Just noticed the Korriban is very close to Yavin 4. Which is ofcource a Historical place for the Sith.

    See for galaxy map.

Korriban is in the right upper corner above Yavin4.

Nice find, MassassiOrder. I think they're a bit too close on that map, but they are pretty near to each other.

This is an awesome thread. Keep up the good work.

Also. I beleive that a short cameo of Chewie and Kashyyyk would be in order. Something along the order of:

wide-shot lots of clone shock troops converging on a large host of Wookies.
    fade-to-black
fade-from-black close panning shot wookies in binders being led by small group of soldiers. Chewie ambushes them only to be over thrown.
cut-to Chewie in binders escorted by a large assortment of troopers

    --- sig ---

No matter what happens, there is always someone who knew it would.

After doing a little research, I've decided that it would probably be in the EU's best interests if Yoda doesn't kill Dooku in the cave on Dagobah. What happened was that a Bpfasshi Dark Jedi was on the run, and he commandeered the ship of Jorj Car'das, taking him prisoner and killing his crew. He arrived on Dagobah, where Yoda was waiting for him. The two of them fought for almost a day and a half, using not only their lightsabers, but also incredibly powerful Force attacks. Finally, the Dark Jedi was consumed by an explosion of Force energy, probably the same kind resulting from the deaths of Palpatine and Joruus C'baoth. While it has been confirmed that an EU character will be appearing in Episode III, I highly doubt Lucas will follow what it has said this much.

Still, even if Yoda kills Dooku in the cave, this will not cause a contradiction. In fact, the deaths of two Dark Jedi on Dagobah might even make more sense, seeing how powerful the dark side was in the cave.

Interesting info -thanks for the research.

If there is a battle on Dagobah, which is possible, I think it would be Dooku and Yoda.

I was trying to figure out which EU character it could be...y'know, whom would fit into the plot of Episode III the best?

I was thinking maybe Grand Admiral Thrawn, as others have suggested.

But I think it could be Asajj Ventress and/or Durge as well, simply because they are a huge part of the Clone Wars EU campaign. Although that might be pushing it.

I don't know if I want it to be Thrawn or not. On one hand, I'd get a big kick out of seeing the Chiss in the movie. On the other hand, Thrawn's earliest chronological appearance so far was in the short story "Mist Encounter," 19 years before ANH. I've not read this story, but I believe that it depicts Thrawn's discovery by Palpatine's people. Thrawn was exiled by his people for destroying the Outbound Flight Project about 31 years before ANH. With Episode III being set anywhere from 20 to 18 years before ANH, I'm not sure if Thrawn appearing in the film would be in the EU's best interests.

I definitely don't want it to be Durge. We've still got almost two years before EP3, and I don't want him to live that long. Jango Fett was killed before the clonetroopers even showed up, and Cydon Prax didn't even make it a year into the war. Why should Dooku's third right-hand-man live so long? I was hoping the Count would keep going through them like Obi-Wan through lightsabers and Vader through right hands. :D

I can see Ventress showing up, but I hope she doesn't. I don't like her that much. Her twin scimitar 'sabers (which, incidentally, can link together to make a double-bladed lightsaber) don't help much. It won't be long now before they come up with a characters who wields two double-bladed, dual-phase scimitar lightsabers. :p

    Bump :)

This thread hasn't been very active lately, but then I have been busy with work as well... [face_blush]

Anyway, wouldn't it be cool to see a Sith Hound or some equally terrifying monster, such as a living Kryat Dragon, in Episode III?

Ah yes, good to have this thread bumped.

I dunno, Haggis - it would be cool, but if Lucas felt he had to explain the presence of a Sith Hound or even a Krayt Dragon (how many non-fanatics know that's what Ben was imitating in ANH?), it might be cumbersome.

As in, "here's something you've never seen before in the GFFA - allow me to explain what it is."

Unless it was presented simply in Rancor-style or Geonosis-style, and only the hardcore fans would care that this particular scary monster happens to be called a krayt dragon. ;)

Who knows? Sometimes I have a feeling that I'll know the bare bones plot - I mean, there's certain things that have to happen.

But I'm getting the feeling that Lucas & Co. are pulling out all the stops on this one, and that it's going to be unlike anything we've ever seen.

    Agreed. :)
There have been some good screen shots produced from Star Wars Galaxies which show detailed Krayt dragons...

Also, according to the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia, there are more than one type of Krayt Dragon...

    cool beans.

heh...maybe uncle owen and aunt beru will be unwilling to take on Luke Skywalker, so Obi-Wan gets pissed off, kills a krayt dragon, and then they're all like "whatever you say sir." [face_laugh]

Yippee! My favorite thread is back!

Also, according to the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia, there are more than one type of Krayt Dragon...

Those would be the Canyon Krayt and the Greater Krayt, right? IIRC, they're believed to be two different species of Krayt Dragon, but it's possible that the Canyon Krayt is actually the juvenile Greater Krayt, if I'm recalling their names correctly. After checking the link, I see that I am.

How many times have we seen a Krayt Dragon? There was one in Outlander, one in Tales from Jabba's Palace, one in Promises... That's all I can remember, but I'm sure there've been more. I think there was a story in which Luke was attacked by a Krayt Dragon and it killed his pet dewback. I know those events were referenced in The Essential Guide to Alien Species, but I don't recall if they actually ever took place in a story. Does anyone know if they did?

I did a quick search for all sources involving Krayt Dragons...

Dark Empire II, Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races, Galaxy Guide 7: Mos Eisley, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Star Wars Customizable Card Game - Premiere Set, Tales from Jabba's Palace, The Illustrated Star Wars Universe, The Wildlife of Star Wars

I like the idea of Anakin being tempted or maybe fighting some of the deceased sith on Korriban. Like that idea whoever posted it. Not going back to find out.. This thread is pretty long.

I think it would be best if they included Korriban AND a lava planet, or a volcano on Korriban as an alternative.
