[HCSF] who tells that anakin & padme are married? how do the jedi/obi-wan find out?

one person i never thought about that could tell is the priest that married anakin/padme. what do you all think?

 

we know r2 & c3p-o were witnsesses at anakin & padme's wedding, and that episode iii takes place three years later but what i'm wandering is is it possible c3p-0 or r2-d2 accidently let it slip the two were married?

Maybe that's why they have their memories erased?

I think that C3-PO, having witnessed the marriage, might let it slip. Afterwards, when he and R2 witness the twins being carried away, Yoda has their memories erased to prevent C3-PO from making the same mistake again.

Also, while I don't doubt that Lucas will probably have the droids' memories wiped, remember that R2 interfaces with a lot of "strange computers." Perhaps some pertinent facts were accidentally/deliberately uploaded, to be retrieved later? R2 is a smart feller, for a droid

Besides, as to the "Artoo trying to hard to find Obi" and "the property of an Obi-Wan," the truth is, we simply don't know what Leia told R2.
Maybe she was told some secrets about R2 and his history. She was obviously told about Obi-wan and his whereabouts.

 

there are a lot of secrets in episode 4, but everyone knows something. owen knows something happened to anakin, r2 has knowledge about obi-wan but threepio doesn't.

leia, when she was younger was probably told about obi-wan and his involvment in the clone wars -- so that's one way she can know about him.

 

True, but how did Bail Organa know that Obi went to Tatooine? Wasn't Luke supposed to be a secret? Did Bail also know about the twins?

This makes me think of the Don Henley song, "Everybody knows."

Maybe GL should play this at the end of Ep.III ?

I think its pretty obvious to Obi-Wan and especially yoda when padme runs to Anakin's side. You could dismiss it as just sympathy, but I think yoda would sense the love between them even if Obi couldn't. This would at least give them a clue if they aren't complete numbskulls, as in the case of palpatines treachery.

what always bothered was at the end of aotc, when obi-wan reports that anakin took padme back to naboo. the council knew they had strong feelings for each other, but to me, it seemed like they weren't that concerned about it.

it's almost as if they gave permission for anakin/padme to get married because the knew one way other another, they would get together.

i think if the council found out, they wouldn't be at all surprised.

True. The larger question is why he agreed to marry them in the first place? [I am writing a fan fic that gives one answer to this question.] I know that the Jedi life is not known all that well to outsiders, but the "no attachment" rule seems to be well known. Even if the preist knew nothing about the Jedi, one would have to question a secret marriage, especially with a woman of rank. Even if the Lake Retreat staff knew her only as a handmaiden, there are too many questions.

Senator Amidala returns to Coursant after a visit to the Naboo Lake Country, once again under the sole protection of Anakin Skywalker.

Jar-Jar sees them land and separate and tells someone: ?Meesa no seein? Senator Padmé or little Ani so happy in a long long time. They sa both look like they won a podrace.?

About three weeks later, Senator Amidala attends an early morning session of the Senate. Senator Amidala, accompanied by Dormé, moves her senate seat pod out into the dome to speak. Already queasy, the sudden move of the seat pod is the last straw. Even under the court make-up, she appears greensick.

Dormé: (Rushing to hold Amidala) Are you all right, my lady?

Amidala: I have a bad feeling about this.

I would like to take the time to up this thread. I like where it's going as far as discussion...
How long have C-3PO and R2-D2 been around, and what have they seen??
WHAT WE KNOW: When the two droids came on the scene in "A.N.H." they obviously weren't brand-new. The original trilogy is peppered with hints that both C-3PO and R2-D2 have been around longer than any other characters and have had their own share of adventures.
WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW: In the early 80's, the rumor circulated that at the end of the ninth movie in the series (Lucas has stated that there are actually three trilogies, making nine episodes), it will be shown that the entire story was told from the memory banks of the two droids.
I strongly believe that 3-PO let's it slip about Anakin and Padme' having a wedding, which is why it would tie him to not having any knownledge what-so-ever in "A.N.H."
Also, there was someone who posted that Owen didn't recognize 3-PO. I'm pretty sure he did, AND I'm so sure that he knew his memory was erased somehow, which is why he picked R5-D4 over R2-D2. Owen Lars probably knew R2 had memory still which is why he demanded Luke take him first thing in the morning to get his memory erased.

I'm sure he noticed an initial similaritity. He even asked C3PO if he was a protocol droid or not. When 3PO mentioned his first job was working with binary loaders (obviously after the memory wipe), Owen probably figured it was a different droid, or had been wiped.

Once Luke mentioned Obi-wan, Owen realized what was happening, and told Luke to get them both wiped.

(BTW, I do know that the SW films are told from the droids' perspectives.)

i don't think obi-wan would do that, espicially if padme asked him not to because she feared the consequences and anakin's reaction.

 

i think he would he's always going on about the jedi code and what Anakin can and cant do

 

Maybe the paparazzi spills the beans and blabs about it all over the interplanetary media.

Anakin and Padme wake up the morning after, vowing to keep their marriage a secret. C-3PO turns on the TV and says,
"Master, it might be a good idea to watch the news. It looks like your little secret is out."
Anakin and Padme watch video footage of themselves kissing at the wedding.
Anakin says "Screw this! I'm joining the dark side!"

More seriously, Obi-Wan is a lot more strict in ATOC than TPM. He would inform the council if he found out about the wedding.

assuming there is a tape, palpatine could definitly use the tape to show the jedi are corrupt and name them as outlaws.

 

I was thinking more along the lines that a reporter with a video camera was hiding nearby.
You telling me you didn't know there was a reporter scuba diving with his spycam periscope? Neither did I but those paparazzi sure are tricky.

i think obi-wan already knows that they got married. you see, at the end of aotc, yoda asks obi where anakin is. he says "escorting padme" but then he quickly changes the subject to the clones...either that or obi-wan senses that padme is pregenat or senses that anakin is married.
