Yesterday night it suddenly hit me. I had a sweet girlfriend for 1&1/2 years, and now she's gone.

We met in London, where she worked at the Dolphin Square Hotel. I walked past the reception, and heard someone say, "Well, he's handsome", so naturally -- heheh -- yours truly looked over his shoulder, and zap, our eyes met, as these things go.

I remember I went into the city once, while she was working, and came back to tell her about a great little restaurant I had discovered. And they -- she, Mike, Idris, and Mary -- asked what it was called, and it turned out to be a big food-chain, something like Bojangles. They all went mad laughing.

But anyway, dear people of the BB House, this shall be the thread in which you tell us of all your heartbreaking break-up stories.

Not much, eh? Doesn't matter. I'm not really used to talk about these things via the Internet either.

But here I am, sitting at my parents' house, in the big empty attic, miles away from anywhere. I e-mailed Nic to apologize for the fact I didn't bring her to the airport, and she said it was OK. Which actually depressed me more. I mean, Jesus. "It's OK" is worse than "Why didn't you do it you big freakwit?"

I know, I wanted it to end, but still. As the song goes, "Breaking up is never easy I know / but I have to go".

So Debo's Learning Moment # 1 will be:

"Never do something just to affect the other in a bad way."

    man, i'm sorry Debo :(

breaking up really is never easy. i don't really have any good break-up stories, in fact the only person i've ever "broken up" with is now my wife so that didn't really last. :D

Well, feeling much better now. Only yesterday I went through a rough patch a bit.

As I said to Missninfan: I'm at my parents' house now, who are on vacation, friends either are away or busy, and my girlfriend went back to London. Even the cats don't come inside, they hardly seem to recognize me anymore. So there's not much to do. I could spam the BB forums; I've never posted as much as now anyway.

EDIT: And I know: you can be the best psychologer the world has ever known, and you can analyse the whole thing as clinically as you want, but if you can't have a simple chat with someone about it, it'll drive you nuts anyway.

    EDIT 2: That's Learning Moment # 2, folks.

Ah, I had forgotten how nice it can be to wallow in your blue sorrows.

There's a place where lovers go
    To cry their troubles away
And they call it Lonesome Town
    Where the broken hearts stay

You can buy a dream or two
To last you all through the years
And the only price you pay
Is a heart full of tears

Going down to Lonesome Town, where the broken hearts stay
I'm going down to Lonesome Town, to cry my troubles away

And in the town of broken dreams
The streets are filled with regret
    Maybe down in Lonesome Town
    I can learn to forget

Going down to Lonesome Town, where the lonely hearts stay
I'm going down to Lonesome Town, to cry, to cry my troubles away

And in the town of broken dreams
The streets are filled with regret
    Maybe down in Lonesome Town
    I can learn to forget

    Maybe down in Lonesome Town
    I can learn to forget

You like wallowing in sorrow? Or are you just trying to get more sympathy and breakup hugs? ;)

Well, one guy left to work in Europe and we figured that far away just wouldn't work, but the hardest was the guy who I found cheating. I was prepared to forgive him once, but he was such an arse about it that we just split. I know that probably doesn't sound harsh, but it really was.

    A pity.

I must admit I flirt a lot even when I'm in a relationship. I just can't help it. I can be a bit of a bastard then, manipulative. But it just happens automatically, I always like to be around women and have a good time.

Where was he from, the European guy?
