    Glad you like it. :)

    What is the Silmarillion?
Is it a drama, a tragedy, an epic adventure tale?
OK, I'm assuming it's very old. For all I know it could be a book written in the 90s.

It's about 20 or so years old, and, oh, I think epic would fit it nicely. Think of it as a Middle-Earth bible. :D :D Very good. Very confussing. Did I say very good?! :p

Yes, I think epic adventure/history would fit it very nicely. The Silmarillion is the history of Middle Earth from before its creation up to the war of the Ring. It was written by Tolkien, but compiled (or something to that effect, edited maybe?) by his son Christopher.

The Silmarillion = [face_love] [face_love] [face_love] (even though it doesn't say anything about me :p)

DJ floats by on an inflatable rubber ducky with a fruity drink in her hand, reminding herself that she doesn't need another cat.

Has anyone read any of the works by Christopher Tolkien?

Nope, but I have read the notes in the Book of Lost Tales I & II (at least some of them). That probably doesn't count though...

I haven't read The Unfinished Tales, but I have read some of The Book of Lost Tales (I and II). It was so interesting to see how the stories changed and developed :)

Where the Wild Things Are (you know, with Max and all those monsters on that island)
is one of my favorites, even though it is a kid's book.

    Misery, by Stephen King

The Thrawn Trilogy, by Timothy Zahn

    Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton

    Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens

Hardy Boys Casefiles #1: Dead On Target is the one to beat, although they are no longer writing Hardy Boys.

The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger, by Stephen King

Shadows of the Empire, by I forgot who.

Those are just the ones I can think of now. There are others, but those ones are really good!

    My absolute favorite books are:

    The Lord of the Rings

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

It would take too long to list all of my 'medium favorite' books :)

    [face_laugh] Why not, Arwen?! [face_laugh]

As for favorite books, I would have to say The Lord of the Rings, The Narnia Chronicles, The Thrawn Trilogy (Plus The Hand of Thrawn), and To Kill a Mockingbird.

I've neglected the JC for three days, and now I feel bad. :(

    I think it's your turn to post a visual, OWA [face_mischief] :p

Oh, and a couple of my other major favorites are Beauty, The Blue Sword, and The Hero and the Crown, all by Robin McKinley. I also love Timothy Zahn's SW books [face_love]

    I don't get it. [face_plain]

Anyway, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee was a great book and a good movie.
Ever seen it? It has Gregory Peck (Damien Thorne's adopted dad in The Omen).

Another good courtroom drama was 12 Angry Men(which was parodied in the Simpsons episode 'The Boy Who Knew Too Much' (which also referenced Ferris Bueller's Day Off) and in the Pauly Shore movie Jury Duty)

Are they ever going to make a movie out of the O.J. Simpson trial?

Sorry study, it's kind of an inside joke. In the Lincoln forum I tried to make a pine tree with markup codes. It took me 6 or 7 edits to get it to look anything like a tree, and it still looked really silly. Now OWA knows firsthand how hard it is :p

We had to read To Kill a Mockingbird in 9th grade English. It was a good book, but reading it for class and doing projects with it took most of the fun out of reading it [face_plain]

Oh yes, the movie of To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorites. I grew up with that movie and that book. I had read it multiple times before we actually had to read it for school. :p For some reason, I always wanted to have a sequel to it. Too bad she never wrote another book. [face_plain]

As for the diagrams: [face_laugh] Phew! That took me about 20 minutes to do because I didn't want any dots going towards the trees. :p It's pretty frightening, isn't it?! ;)

Edit: This was my 1,500th post (!!!) and I used too many smilies in this post.
