Summary - Anakin and Padme have problems saying one simple sentence. I won't say anymore!

Hearts on Fire

Chapter 1

Coruscant. Midnight. Padme held her hands close to her chest, as she frantically paced back and forth, in her luxurious apartment. It was the tenth time in as many weeks, that there had been an assassination attempt on her life, and tonight was no different. Being the Senator of Naboo was becoming to be more dangerous with each passing moment. Anxiety coursed through her veins, and her throbbing heart pounded unremittingly, as the fear of loss settled in. The most eccentric thing was, that it was not her own life that she was concerned for?it was Anakin?s. Anakin had been her assigned to protect her during her stay, and had successfully thwarted all of the attacks. Tonight he had shown the type of bravery that would leave any woman breathless, as he protected her with no regard for own life. He had chased her attacker into the busy streets of Coruscant, but her heart told her that he would be back.

Her mind continued to reason with her, she knew being attracted to him was wrong, he was a Jedi. And for a Jedi, attachments were forbidden. The harder she tried to resist, the more she thought of him. His dreamy blue eyes, his sandy blonde hair, his adorable smile, and his muscular physique, it was those things about him that made her thank the heavens she was a woman. But he had no feelings for her, how could he? He was a Jedi. And she was nothing more than an assignment, one she was sure that he was getting tired of.

Anakin ran into the room, sweat continued to pour relentlessly down both sides of his temple, as he looked at the worried Senator.

?Padme.?

Padme held her breath, as she heard his voice. She quickly walked in his direction.

?Anakin, I was so worried about you.?

?I?m fine my? Lady.? Anakin gave her a reassuring smile.

?Did you get him?? Padme asked.

Anakin let out a deep sigh.

?He was fast, but not fast enough. He has been taken in for questioning.?

Padme gasped, as she saw blood dripping from Anakin?s arm.

?Anakin you?re bleeding!?

?It?s just a scratch.? Anakin replied and almost defensively moved his arm towards his waist.

?Let me see it.? Padme tenderly held Anakin?s hand in her own, as she methodically examined the injury.

Anakin?s pulse raced, as Padme?s loving touch, sent indescribable sensations through every pore of his being. His yearning eyes devoured every inch of her beauty. Her soft brown eyes, her cute nose, her moist lips, her feminine curves, intoxicated his mind. His body ached to hold her in his arms, and to feel her skin rub up against his. But he was Jedi, and attachments were forbidden. Besides, why would someone like Padme ever fall in love with him? Anakin tried to brush it of it as much as he could, however he knew he was not doing a very good job of it.

?You call this a scratch?!? Padme looked at Anakin.
?It needs to be tended to straight away.?

Anakin found it difficult to breathe, as he saw undying love glowing in her warm eyes. It was tearing him apart that he could not kiss her. He turned his gaze to the floor.

?I?ll have it checked when I get back to the Temple.?

?Anakin this needs immediate attention.? Padme stressed.
?Take your shirt off, while I go get the medical kit.?

Before Anakin could get a word in, Padme walked to her bedroom. Anakin stood motionless for a moment, but knew that it was pointless arguing with her. She was not going to take no for an answer. Anakin sighed, as he stripped the crimson stained shirt off of his body. Padme walked back into the room and

 

It goes without saying that I love this already.

Somehow I don't think that Padme is going to Naboo alone.
You have both done a great job describing the mutual attraction between Anakin and Padme.

I really like how you have made them both humble about their feelings for one another. Neither one is expecting a relationship to follow, or even that the other person is attracted!

That is so beautiful, and I can't wait to see how you bring this couple together.

One thing...maybe other females will disagree with me on this...but most girls are not like guys...most of us do not see a guy and undress him in our minds. I know that some do. I suppose if a female wanted to, she could, but I don't think about stuff like that when I see a good looking guy. If you are going to go with a struggle...let me tell you that we girls struggle with emotional stuff more than physical stuff.

Oh, I should also add that we struggle with our thoughts too...sometimes fantasy like "wouldn't it be neat if this guy approached me" or something like that...something I'm trying to work on myself
