Hello and a Question

Hi, I'm new....There's my preamble. I've been looking for a new social life, figured "Hey, why not with other Star Wars Fans?" I'm 22, lived in the Valley ,y whole life (12 Houses, Same Vally. I can't wait to meet people and get to know you.
Anyway my question (this has bothered me for years), does anyone know what the diffrence between the Black, Grey, and Olive colered Imperial Uniforms? It's driven me crazy!!!

I totally agree with you on that whole Imperial uniform question...I have had the same question about lightsaber blades I don't know the answer right off the top of my head but let me look into it for you, or someone else who might know can look into...or answer...yeah.

Welcome Angell, as for the answer to your question. You might want to check with Handyman, the City Rep in Provo. He's made many of the costumes and might know the reasons for the different colors.

Welcome! In answer to your question about the color of Imperial Officer uniforms, here is a brief summary...

White tunic: Imperial Navy Grand Admiral

Olive-grey tunic: Naval/Army Officers

Black tunic: Non-commissioned Subofficers, guards, Stormtrooper Captains

Black/Grey jumpsuit: Pilots, technicians

Specific information on uniforms, both Imperial and Rebel can be found on the Military Insignia pages. The SWTC is the most in-depth source you'll find on the subject. Everything you could possibly want to know is there.

Ok, Ondiv, I've got your lightsaber answer.

Blue Blade=Jedi Guardian, they focus on combat training and mastery of the lightsaber

Green=Jedi Consular, focus less on physical combat and more on mental disciplines.

Yellow=Jedi Sentinel, ferrets out deciet and injustice, bringing it to light. they balance physical and mental disciplines.

that just means you are a BMF.

 

Mace's purple blade? I have no idea. My guess is it has special designation since he is the senior most member of the Jedi Council....but it's just a guess.

Mace's blade is purple because Samuel Jackson asked for it that way, and George Lucas, being the drunken ewok he is, gave it to him.

I'm kind of a jedi guy. I guess you could say i'm Jedi_Angell's Jedi apprentice. Though he is reletively new to the way's of the force he know's more than I do, thus if I have a Star Wars question I usually refer to him.

If you ever play Jedi Academy, the saber colers they have are blue, green, yellow, orange, purple and red. But i'm guessing they just added orange for variety.

If you watch the special features for Episode II you can see when Sam Jackson actually asked Lukas if he could have a purple saber. That's why he had it but if you wan't a reason within the Star Wars world, any theory would just be speculation unless Lukas himself comes up with a reason for it. Til then, one reason is as good as another.
