You bet it's free! No dues or charges of any kind. Why should you have to pay to hang out with other fans. All you have to do to "join" is register on the boards and then you will be added to the mail group and you're in! Then just start attending events!
The only things you really need to join up with us is healthy love of Star Wars and a healthy sense of humor.
The Omaha forum doesn't get a lot of traffic I've noticed - however there are some forums around here that are impossible to keep up with.
Yeah. We don't use them that much. The mods can be a little heavy handed. Well in the past they have been anyway. We can do whatever we want over at our boards.
I've watched them for a while now since I learned there was a group near where I live - I've never touched anything in here from a mod POV though.
Like Craig said, we've moved completely to our own boards www.omaha-fanforce.com We made the move probably over a year ago, back when the mods WERE board Nazi's. It would probably be impossible to get everyone to move back, as the vast majority of us really dislike TFN's new look and hardly come here anymore. I'll try to remember to post meeting times and such, but beyond that, with the comfort factor of our own site, it probably wont be much more than that.
Yeah, I probably should have prefaced that statement by saying the current mods are cool. Having met Dajuan in person, I can honestly say she's pretty cool. Boba Femme was a whole other story.
