on one hand i am intersted in learning some few words. on the other hand i guess i will not find the time for studying them well enough. so it will be very exiting for me running there through the streets and try to buy some food or stuff.

Hi, welcome and don't worry, when Ban and I were in Paris last week-end, we went into a shgop and the shop-keeper actually talked to us in English ! with an awful accent, of course... maybe it was Bcuz I was having fun speaking in English a moment before, who knows... (yeah, I have fun speaking English. Try it guys, when you're very very very bored. You'll see what I mean )

Twinnie, I am going to France in may, too.
I had two years of french in school, but I forgot most of it...anyway. I am going to go canoeing on the Dordogne for 8 days. We´ll visit Las Caux (sp?) and old castles down there. Last fall my family and I went to Alsace (stayed in a little town called Hunawiehr, it is somewhere between Colmar and Strasbourg. I still a have a bottle of good wine in my room....

 

Just got another load of wine from Bahlingen (Kaiserstuhl area) almost Alsace, but on the German side of the Rhine.

 

I have been to France, but it is 15 years ago. All I remember is a restaurant that served excellent food.
