    Any good ?

I'm using one simply to record my lectures at Uni
and I was wondering if its worth my money to get one.

the usual tape recorder (those small things) don't last very long in terms of recording and the sound quality is not very good.

The Mini disc, although it does give good sound quality and long recording time (5h in L4)
it sometimes get interference from the Uni(University) sound sytems
I know this cus My friend had one

Also I was told by someone that the ipod was not effected by the Uni sound system therefore the recording was crystal clear and so I should get one.

I'm simply asking just get a better insight of the ipod.
    YOur opinions :) thanks

I bought a 10GB one back in Feb, and I love it.

I've never used it to record, only to store all my mp3s (even computer files). I use it when I'm talking walks to work or where ever, when I'm on the bus, while I'm at work, even when I'm at the computer.

The battery is its biggest let down. On continuous play it'll probably only last 7-10 hours, depending on the volume and headphones, but when it's at home I just leave it plugged into the wall and it's always charged up ready to go.

I realise there are a lot of horror stories about iPod, but I can honestly say I've not had a single problem with mine since I bought it. Well worth the money.

I bought an ipod mini in Singapore that worked out a lot cheaper than they're selling in stores over here. If you swing through there, pick one up - they even have the UK power plug!

They're brilliant though. The battery is its biggest flaw, but that shouldn't stop you. I just got an iTrip and power adapter so I can play everything through the car stereo now... it's marvellous. I've never used it for recording either though.

    In short... get one.

iPods have become an essential gadget. Creative Labs also makes a fine MP3 player.

Mark, are you coming to the east coast when you visit?

Yes, I will be with MEPA and DB516 during opening night of ROTS.

(That's Fan Force New York and Fan Force Long Island to the lay-person :p)

If the battery dies on an iPod, can you get a replacement, and how much do they cost?

I bought a Mini iPod earlier this year and love it to bits.

I had a minor problem with a strange static sound whilst playing music, but I sent it away to get fixed and had it back within a week.

    Definitely recommend it.
