I don't care what game but it has to be good! I haven't had a 64 for soooo long so ... what should I get him?

Anyhthing really! I was thinking Zelda OoT / MM or a Rare game (Goldeneye/Perfect Dark) or Super Mario 64.

    He's only got a '64 so thats all I can get ...

    Suggestions welcome ...

Wow, all of those are excellent choices. Is he a Star Wars fan? If so, Rogue Squadron would be a good one...

    TOP CHOICES

-Zelda: Ocarina of Time (and Majora's Mask, but it'd be better to have them both, rather than just Majora)
-Perfect Dark (this game is Goldeneye times a thousand. I still play MP, and it's been out for 4 years.)
-Rogue Squadron (fun game, good controls, graphics...)
-Super Mario 64 (best platformer ever. Very fun game.)
    ______________________________

NOT AS AWESOME, BUT STILL GOOD CHOICES

-Starfox 64 (fun, but mostly on rails)
-Shadows of the Empire (fun... for its time. Still with teh wampa codes and stuff, it's fairly cool)
-Banjo-Kazooie (don't have this one, but from when I played it, it had a really immersive vibe to it, which is strange for a platformer, but it for some reason really drew me in. Perhaps that's because it was 4 in the morning, but eh... )

Thing is, some of those need the memory expansion... shouldn't be too expensive these days. I think Perfect Dark needs it for most of the play modes, and RS uses it for better graphics but doesn't need it.

Perfect Dark is the best choice, more levels than goldeneye and awesome Multiplayer mode with tough Simulants, especially Dark Sims and Predator sims.

Well it all depends on what this person likes. If he's a Zelda fan well then get him Zelda OoT, (then MM eventually). Or even if he doesn't well....Zelda is just the best. But if He's a FPS fan (which it seems like the mass populace is) I'd say Goldeneye, or Perfect Dark. Also a game that deserves a mention is Get Force Gemini, that game is SO addicting, and fun. In case you don't know it's a third person shooter/action adventure game by Rare. Good stuff! So those are my recomendations.

    He likes all games ...

So far I went to the store (EB) I saw a 2nd hand Super Mario 64 game for $60! ($30 US dollars)

But I saw Goldeneye and Zelda: Ocarina of Time for around $20 ($10 US Dollars) so one of them is what I will get ...

Either Goldeneye or Zelda: OoT ...

The conversion rate is sitting around the 75-80 cent mark, so A$60 would be closer to US$45. I'd also consider getting him a Gamecube, he'd enjoy that more. :p

Personally I would say Zelda, just becuase I am a die hard Zelda fan and think its the best game ever. However I do think that if you want some multiplayer action you should go with Goldeneye.

Gamecube! Heh ... I'm not Mr Moneybags.

I think I'll be getting him 007. He seems to be more enthusiastic over this game than Zelda.

I would recommend Perfect Dark. It might be past it's natural prime - if compared to such modern classics as Half-Life or Halo - but it still shines as a great co-operative and multiplayer-title with a gripping single-player story. To tell you the truth, it has aged pretty well.

Other good choices include Goldeneye - the second best FPS on N64 - Lylat Wars ( or Starfox in the United States of America ) and Mario Kart 64. I dare you, pick any of them and your friend will be one happy gamer :)

[ EDIT: out of the two choices you gave, Tim, I would pick Zelda - a game I completely forgot to mention in my 'speech' above... ]
