Help with my film. Soccer related conversation.

Hey everyone.
Long story short:
I'm gonna film a conversation between two blokes in a pub...I want it to be about soccer, with enough material to last several minutes.
hmm, as I've only really followed the last World Cup and the current Premier League, I'm not a wizz with soccer.
So any suggestions as to what my two fellos could be arguing about?

 

Chelsea and arsenals race for the league..

i think Everton could help you out alot with your idea

 

Whether goal celebrations are worthy of bookings?

Whether teams should have a minimum number of English players?

Whether transfer fees should be capped?

Whether the transfer window should continue?

Whether the FA Cup Final should be moved to a Wednesday night?

Whether penalty shoot-outs are a valid way to decide matches?

Whether video replays should be used?

Take your pick!

 

Arguing about.

How old are your two actors?

 

Around my area, it's whether or not West Bromwich Albion are going to stay up in the premiership, and did Megson screwed things up, or was it the refs being biased against West Brom because they're not a popular team...things of that nature.

If you had one older person and one younger person, you could have them talk about the influence of money on the game and how things were, and how things are. The older person would remember the good old days when everything was grand (rose tinited spectacles perhaps) loyal players, local sides etc and how he thinks money has corrupted the game, and the younger person who thinks the past was filled with poorer atheletes, more violence (heh, save the last weekend ) and that it was less exciting with less skill and that money has made the game bigger and better. It would be two very contrasting points of view. Of course, neither would be completely right as the truth lies somewhere in between.

Arsenal are out of the title race since they lost to United.

 

It's a great idea Everton, but sadly, the two people are 18.
Although I'll keep that conversational topic in mind for next time I'm at the pub with my girlfriend's dad...also Irish.
