    So there is no short equivilant of I care?

    So what is the German version?

    Not really.
    And the problem is alos, that the question is phraed vry different in English and German.
    In English teh main verb is 'care': Does he care about anything else?
    In German the main verb is 'to be': Ist ihm noch etwas wichtig? (Is something else important to him)

    So you cannot answer 'I care' in German because the backreference is not leading to 'care' but 'be'.

    Am I making sense so far?
    In short the English is: Does he care -> I care
    while German is Ist ihm wichtig -> Mir schon. (Is something important -> to me there is)
