Hey everyone! I'm new to the Fanforce boards, but i've been all over the place in general lol.

Figured i'd drop in and say hey to people in my area(or.. close to it). But my name is Ashley, and i live in Dumfries Virginia... I'm a tad shy, so sorry if this isnt much of a post, but i wanted to atleast say hi to my fellow Star Wars fans.

I wanted to say hi as well, so I thought I'd use this thread rather than start another one and give strawbary an aneurism or sump'n. I'm new to these boards too. Didn't realize there was a SW club in the area.

Mostly a BIG EU fan. Got re-interested in the movies after reading a bunch of the books. Just put together a jedi costume and lightsaber hilt (mainly to win a Halloween contest at work -- hate waiting til the last min .. lol) plus I'm going to the MD ren faire in the fall with my brother's family and needed something to wear. (I understand Knights are welcome?) He is doing Cap'n Jack. Pretty original, huh? [face_laugh]

Also just reserved a room and a car for CIV. Staying across the street from USC campus. About a mile south of the convention center. That'll be my first big SW event. Pretty scary.

Stole this forum name from my guy in KOTOR2. Liked the play-on-words. :p

Probly post up on the GS boards too, when I get more time to check them all out.

    See yas!

Welcome to our boards. We also attend Renn Fest. Always on Pirates weekend. Perhaps our trips will coincide ;)

Hi Minx, Hi Wendy. Good to meet you two.

Minx, the pirates weekend is Sep 23 & 24. Not sure yet what day my brother's family is going but I can always go twice. :)

Wendy, I'm not sure you'd like me much. I'm light-side through and through. Quiet thinker, listener, philosopher type. Don't talk much, and only move as fast as I have to. But I DO like sharks. Kept a fish-tank full of them (albeit very small ones) for years.

That costume is fantastic! You must have invested a lot of time into that. I have to say though, you looked a lot um ... taller in the game. ;)

We have a term for folks like you in the 501st Legion...

    TARGET PRACTICE. :p

Ok you just redeemed yourself. ;)

It didn't take much time, but it cost me more then I'm willing to say. lol

Yeah this whole being tall thing... overrated if you ask me. :p

Then I'd have to move pretty fast, huh? ;)

I have to defer to your expertise on that subject. I'm only 6'6". 6'7" in the damn jedi boots.

Sounds like we need some sort of foot race for troopers at DragonCon....

There already was the Trooper Olympics at CIII and Farpoint!! [face_laugh]

    I know this, I don't need to run, that's why I carry a E-11 now. [face_devil]

Besides, with a Trooper foot race it would go like this:

    Run Run Adjust Adjust

    [face_laugh]

I remember when a bunch of us were waiting infront of the Marriot at CIII (Ken in his red wig, smoking that cigarette) and we saw that one guy dressed as a TK. Eugenia's commentary "Troop troup adjust adjust" as the guy would take a few steps and then shift something on his armor. LOL

From what I've seen, most are too tipsy to run fast. Unless it's last call....

Yeah, until someone in a Death Star costume joins the race, and then it becomes "Bowling for StormTroopers!"
