    Um... pretty sure Han [aka Dad] met Obi-Wan.

    And as for Luke only knowing Obi-Wan for a couple of days -- it's not like Ben Kenobi was his newspaper delivery boy -- and likely they kept in touch post-Obi's death -- if you catch my drift.
    And likely Luke talked at length with Leia about all of it.

    Obi-Wan had great familial connection to Leia... Bail Organa was tight with the Luke and Leia's mom and Obi. I mean... Star Wars starts with Leia sending a message to Obi for help. She obviously had a connection to him, even if they never actually met.

    Technically Obi is the one who brings the Three together, like Han & Leia met because of him. :-B

    Rey evokes "ray" as in she is a ray of light - in place of the Light Side. Sort of describes her character beautifully.

    It also means King in Spanish which plays into all the medieval references in SW. Not sure if that is deliberate or not, though?

    Meanwhile Dack (Luke's tail gunner in ESB) just seems like a proxy for Jack, and Jetson (Wedge's tail gunner) was just...well maybe the writer just watched a cartoon the morning he wrote that character. :p
