I.E., CA High Profile Choc Walk at Disneyland

I would like to extend my good wishes to Team IEFF. I would love to be there too. But due to lack of money, could not participate. Maybe, our finances will be better next year. Have a great time, though.

 

thanks to all who made this a really cool event. the pics will be awesome for sure. you all will be with us in spirit for sure. I've even got a surprise that you'll have to see when I post the pics on sunday night...you'll love it for sure!!! talk with you all then!

 

I'm back, have already taken an 1 1/2 hour nap and ready to go to bed for the night!

Who knew doing a good thing could be so fun! As usual, had a terrific time with the gang! Got to meet our two newest members. What great enthusiasm and a wonderful asset to our club!

A HUGE thanks goes out to HSF! Besides being the best and most enthusiastic team captain, he made sure we all had a room to stay in (our first IEFF sleep-over ), got the banner all set up and ready to carry and even made the extra trip down to get all of our money turned in. Thanks also to Mrs. HSF. She and HSF are a great team!

JM, your flags and fingers were such a terrific addition to the fun we had today! They were a GREAT way to show everyone who we are!! Thanks for all the effort I know you put into them. I have them all and will hang on to them until the next event!

Great pics. I wanted to be there sooo bad. Wish I had the extra money. You guys looked like you all had a great time. I wanted to see the park all decorated up for Halloween. From the pics, looks like it looked great. Looking forward to seeing the banner and flags and fingers up close soon. The banner looks great.

 

O Okay... I went picture happy. I will admit that. BUT I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!! Everyone was so great and kudos to our great, fearless leaders. Here's the link to my pics...don't be scared...I just like pictures...a lot.

JO, your pictures are terrific! I didn't take very many, so it was great to see you. They're really good. Love the captions, too!

 

first of all, let me say thanks to all our walkers today for being such troopers! everyone on time, no complaining, full of excitment for the cause and for our group. what a group we've got indeed. you can see it in the pics we've got of the event today. i've got a couple hundred pics to upload and i'll let you all know when they're up.

I believe we might make the CHOC website with new pics of this years walk. we had our pic and video taken of us several times. what a way to get some exposure huh? we'll see and i'll keep you updated. many many many people kept looking at our banner. thanks to stuart for making this happen.

as a quick side note, we took our nephew to the jedi training academy and they chose him to be part of the class. there were only about 100 or so kids screaming to be picked as they only choose 20 kids. he got picked partially because of his shirt (our logo) and partly due to the fact that sheila and I were lifting him up and yelling...so needless to say they chose him. wait till you all see the pics I got from this!!! what a show indeed! our nephew, with our group logo proudly showing to a crowd of several hundred onlookers, battled darth maul with such intensity and conviction of a real jedi!

and lastly I would like to thank kari (JF77), for volunteering me to head this up. it's given me a chance to do something good and more importantly, to order people around as team captain. HA HA...totally kidding. seriously though, I want to thank you kari for all your help, direction, support in this event. i'm glad to have you with us as you're a definite asset to us all and you're a special person with me for sure. thanks again co-captain

AaS, I'm so sorry I forgot to thank you for gettin' us our incredible banner!! It's so dynamic that it catches everybody's eye. Thank you for taking care of all the details and gettin' it done!!!

I wanted to also say thanks to JM for taking the time to make such awesome flags and fingers. they really put us over the top for sure. tanks soooooooooooo much!

 

We weren't the largest team out there, but I'd guess we were the team with the most spirit!!

 

We were even peppier than the cheerleaders. LOL We were dressed better too.

 

Yea!! And we didn't have to beat those annoying blow-up "spirit-sticks" and repeat the same cheer over and over and over and over and over and....

JO, I "borrowed" some of your CHOC pix and copied them to my photobucket account.

 

No problemo. I need to get some from DH. Where is he? He was even more camera happy than I.

 

He's been having computer issues for a bit. If I didn't know him, I'd have thought he was some crazed paparazzi stalking us at the CHOC!! We haven't seen pix from him for a few weeks. I'll be glad when he's able to get his computer fixed because he takes some great pix!

 

I know I was playing tourist every well too. I am dying to see the pics he took. More pictures!!!!!
