    The only part that irks me about hipsters is they've created this world of doing things in the vein of liking something, rather than just liking what you like. I was recently asked if one of my concert shirts was meant to be ironic. And not that I simply went to an REO Speedwagon/Styx concert.

    I can only say hipsters are far preferable to bros. I also feel like Brooklyn hipsters are as a whole much more unpleasant than Portland hipsters.

    I mostly don't get the shoes. They're so ugly.

    Deck shoes sans socks are not though.

    The arches of my feet ache just looking at them.

    And my balls hurt when I look at their pants.

    Brooklyn hipsters must be truly awful, then... because I've interacted with a ton of Portland Hipsters who were downright unpleasant.

    Yeah, it’s all well and good to like or dislike something; it’s when someone thinks you’re inferior for having different taste that’s irksome. The thing about priding oneself over liking obscure things, disliking mainstream, or liking something mainstream before it was mainstream makes for a combination of arrogance and disdain that I find…disdainful :p

    Brooklyn hipsters are the worst. Many pretend to be activists, yet there's an undercurrent of racism in them that is extremely unpleasant because it's not overt.

    Ask it about something mainstream so it can be condescending towards you. That is when a hipster is most comfortable.

    Failing that, talk about current world politics to spark even more condescension.
