Forgot that I put that there, haha. Just wanted to clarify that I've worn Converse (mostly Chuck Taylors) for quite a few years, but since buying my first pair of Vans about six months ago I think I probably won't be buying any more Converse after my current pair dies. I know, cool story.
Thanks for upping this thread with that. I wore adidas - mostly Gazelles, Campus or Superstarts. Recently graduated to more adult shoes like Nike Courts and gasp, desert boots. Equally cool story.
chucks are the best dancing shoes for people too cheap/poor to buy fancy dancing shoes. especially in the east-coast swing world, they're a part of the "uniform"
A group of guys who need to get a tan, eat a burger and are wearing womans jeans. All 25 pounds underweight, listening to their indy rocks bands whle complaining about big business and corporate greed as they wear their 200 dollar designers jeans and use their Mac laptops. Whats not to hate about them.
I wore Chucks before they were $50 a pair. I have no idea what to think anymore. Good thing I lurk and post here.
I'd get a pair of Chucks at Goodwill if I was sure they weren't infested with demons. Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/...ideo_n_2766810.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003
Ugh...a quick perusal of zappos yielded a range of $65-85. Dammit. Thanks anyway. I suppose it's a good thing I don't NEED new shoes right now.
We have some friends that always call my husband a hipster, which, he's totally not. This is the couple that last weekend drove 14 hours round trip to a small town with an art scene in nowhere Texas, staying in a motel that's a bunch of airstream trailers. Pot-kettle situation?
I've never entirely understood that. My best guess is because he's not super fond of major chain restaurants (Chilis, Olive Gardens, etc), doesn't like most pop music, and he lived in LA for 5 years? Though they also fall into 1 and 2.
Yeah, I noticed them in your dancing photos here. For regular Chucks, Zappos seems to charge MSRP, which is now $50. The least I've seen them for recently is usually around $45 at regular retail stores, except for the occasional pair on clearance (less popular colors or versions, etc.).
Yeah the LA thing is funny. When I'm in LA (where I live) all my friends just think I'm normal, a little conservative, and drive like a grandma. When I'm in home in Reno or Sacramento, my friends say I drive crazy and am a hipster. I just say they are jealous because I dress better than them and have loftier ideas.
