"So long and thanks for all the fish!"-Dolphins.

1st they totally got Marvin right!
2nd best scene was the improbabilaty drive when they turned into yarn!

Did you read the book? I have heard that if you don't read the book you won't understand it so I haven't seen the movie because of that!

I've not read the book, SWB, but I am an avid Monty Python fan, which is very similar to this film.

I have a keen enjoyment of British humor as it points to the absurdity of things.

    HGTG was definitely delightfully absurd.

I agree, JH, the yarn scene was really silly.

I liked where they went into the temple on that planet where they worship the holy handkerchief as everyone on the world seemed to have a cosmic case of hayfever.

    Just too funny.

    Yep!!

It's a good movie for a good laugh!!!

I would recommend to ppl to cheer them up.

    Dophin song was great.

"So long and thanks for all the fish.
Too bad it had to come to this..."

That's all I know but it was good.

Both are hysterical movies. I never got to read the book of Hitchhiker's, but I thought the movie was great.

As for Shaun of the Dead, flippin funny.

I *loved* Hitchhiker's Guide. I saw the BBC's series from back in the 70s first, and loved it. So when I heard that they were making a newer version, I was estatic. They did a really good job, the actors matched the characters, and they were really good actors.

My favorite part was when the Whale was coming to terms with himself as he was falling to the ground. :p

Is HHGTTG a spoof on Star Wars like SpaceBalls?

I don't believe so, it doesn't really reference anything from Star Wars in any way. I think it's just a really good concept done by someone who likes the aspect of space travel and extraterrestrial life. I'm pretty sure that the book was actually written before Star Wars premiered back in the 70's anyways.

Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy was written before the premiere of the first Star Wars. It is a really goofy series.
