It is the best!!!!!
I think we have a number of hockey threads already. Perhaps you use one of those?
Ooo yay, a general hockey thread. Leafs fan here, although the game on Saturday night against Ottawa was just dismal
Dismal? I think it was rather pathetic... Since I'm a Ottawa fan the victory was very sweet.
Ooh! Keep this open. All the other hockey threads more or less focus on specific hockey things.
[hl=red]GUESS WHO'S GOING TO ITALY FOR THE OLYMPICS!!!!!
Me and My brother even have second row tickets along the ice for the gold medal game. We really hope we get to party all night after the gold medal game
GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!!!!![/hl]
You lucky so-and-so!
That's very cool, hopefully Team Canada makes it to the gold medal game too. Canada vs. Czech would be a great final, their semi-final game in the World Cup was outstanding.
sweet, lucky you
actually I got word from my brother that it is actually second row in the balcony so we can actually see better.
Keep an eye out for two crazy Canadians wearing no shirts painted in red.
That's still very cool. I bet Canada will be well represented in the arena, and the atmosphere will be awesome. Heck I watched the gold medal game of 2002 at GM Place when they played the game on the scoreboard screen, and the atmosphere was awesome even then.
[link=http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=152104&hubname=nhl]Lemieux ends magnificent 17-year career[/link]
It's kinda sad that his career ends this way with all of the health problems the guy has had fought: chronic back problems, hip problems, cancer, and now his heart condition. He's arguably the most talented player ever to play in the NHL and he never played a full season in his career. It's too bad it had to end like this.
Bad mental picture!
I'm super jealous though! You're VERY lucky!
You're lucky you're not seeing my brother of old when he was nearly 350 pounds, now he only weighs 220 pounds.
I do hope everyone is ready for the olympics! I already have the times written down for all women's and men's hockey games on my calendar... course, I also wrote down the time for the gold medal match-up. Guess I'm getting a bit ahead of myself.
You are SO lucky.
I am even luckier now i got to meet the team at their bus after the game against italy...they unfortunately did not feel like signing autographs because there tired as heck
Go Flames, Sharks, and Canadians. But above all:
GO COLORADO AVALANCHE!
And for the Olympics I was cheering for Russia.
Go Leafs (I know, we suck...we beat the Islanders though...)
Did anyone happen to catch the retiring of Al MacInnis number? I don't know if they showed in on TV or not but I rather would have liked to see it but I was busy that night. For anyone who's Canadian and likes hockey, it's important to note that Al MacInnis is from Nova Scotia and was an awesome defenseman. I know he was missed in the 2006 Olympics. We could have used him.
Poor Toronto. They put up a grat effort, so hats off to them.
*sigh* I liked the days when they had Cujo more. I don't really cheer for the Leafs, but when they started climbing into the playoffs I was really rooting for them. Oh well.
Last night was a great night for Canadian hockey! Ottawa slaughtered Tampa(and who wasn't DYING to see that?! And The Oilers played fantastic, as did the Flames! I love playoff season!
HOORAY for EDMONTON the OILERS are going to the Stanely Cup!!!!
as a displaced westerner i know that edmonton is on fire and we are gonna bring Lord Stanleys Cup home to canadian soil!!!!
Way to go EDMONTON
Great game on Thursday. Now can Edmonton do it again tonight?
