Yes I know we're just discussing the movies. I was just pointing out - like you just did - that it's merely a coincidence. An accidental one at that most likely.

I, myself, did notice that as well when I re-watched CoS. Whatever he was saying, it sounds more like he was trying to clear his throat. :p

    A question:

Anyone agree with the idea of casting Stephen Fry as Slughorn for HBP? He's been involved with HP from the start (he reads all the audiobooks) so it'd only be right to cast him. He's got the general looks, and can act brilliantly.

It would be nice to cast someone who is close to the books.

It makes it easier to portray the character better.

How about Michael Palin? I always wanted to see him as Lockheart, but I think he could do slughorn equally well.

palin would be nice Slughorn, but IMO Fry would do a better job.

Palin would make a fantastic Lockheart, but that role has already gone, and was brilliantly cast as well.

Not sure about him as Slughorn, though.

I know he doesn't really look like it, but when I read HBP, I envisioned Slughorn to look like John Goodman. A bald, older version of John Goodman.

Sorry for the double post. But I've been thinking about one thing. Has everyone heard the CoS score? Specifically Fawkes the Phoenix?

I can't help but picture that music during the scene when Harry kisses Ginny in HBP. Anyone think the movie would do well to implement this?

I've got the COS score, and love Fawkes' theme. As much as I think themes can be used out of context well (think Leia's theme playing for Obi-Wans death; Yoda's theme playing as our heros escape Cloud City), I think this would be incongruous. Too out of place, IMO.

I was picturing Fawke's theme going down a treat in a certain scene in HBP . . . you know the one. ;)

I think I know which one you're thinking of. Wouldn't that be too happy though considering?

That is not exactly the happy moment for that theme, UNLESS we already know something else like He is still alive somehow, or he plays a big role through the portrait or pensive, althjough I really do not waht him to be alive

Oh no, I was thinking a minor version. The theme is already quite mournful and emotional, it'd only need to be tweaked slightly and made more desperate and it'd fit nicely, I think. If JW can make the Imperial March a sweet, soft and sombre death knell in ROTJ, he can make Fawkes' Theme into what is required here.

that's if JW decides to come back for the movie and if whoever they pick decides to use Fawkes' Theme

It would be a mistake to not incorporate some of the old music into the last few movies. The music has to connect and be consistent too.

I've only watched it once straight through as well since buying it. If I want to watch a particular scene, I go to all three tasks plus the graveyard.

Well, Daniel Radcliffe's hair for one will be much shorter. He has had it cut very short for filming of "December Boys", and unless he can regrow hair as long as GOF in a month or so, it won't be the same.
