Holiday Edition R2-D2 and C-3PO

Showed up last week in San Diego!!

 

picked up one last week in Virginia.

 

What does this set look like?

 

The set has R2 with attatched antler ears, and 3PO in a Santa costume (he's holding the beard in his hands). It's set in a kind of half-dome packaging, and the backdrop is a fireplace hung with Christmas stockings.

I usually open my figures, but the packaging is pretty nice on this one, so I'm leaving them in.

I personally don't like it. Hasbro used old figures its obvious. I think thed be better just to display don't bother opening it. Nice idea cheap way out by hasbro.

I've been to three Walmarts in my area (Boston). They weren't in any of them.

I saw a couple today at a Flew Market, They look cool, My Mother - Who is not a SW Fan, even was thinking of buying them, simply because she tought they were cute/humorous

Int he End we dident buy them, but if I ever come across it again I will proabbly pick it up

 

Saw one in a collector's store by me -- is nice, but money is tight lately....

Are they a take-off on the Grinch (3PO) and his dog with antlers (R2) ?

 

Got mine last night. Nice. The only thing that i don't like is 3PO eyes and that spot under his chin.

Droid Runner Grinch Rip off?? This set is based on a Ralph MaQuarrie Christmas card that is over 20 years old.

I was in Orlando, FL last week and they had these at the Star Tours store at Disney/MGM Studios

 

That's funny -- I thought it was a WM exclusive...

 

Well, no luck today.

 

Have not seen them in the Chicago Area...
they are cute....but not a "must have" for me...

 

I bought one about a week and a half ago at walmart but have only seen that one since.

 

I just noticed this , but the red ornament sticker on the front is the Death Star and the lightsaber is actually a candy cane. Just thought that was cool.
