Not sure if your post was sarcasm or not... I'm also not sure who you are referring to...There aren't any "dems" on here (that I am aware of, nor do I/we care if there were) nor do we discuss politics on these boards or at our meetings (unless it?s about the Republic or the Empire)...

Trust me I am all about saying MERRY CHRISTMAS to EVERYONE! And not being afraid to say it...nor should anyone be.

The reason the name was changed was ONLY because "Holiday Special" is sticking with the overall Star Wars theme (Star Wars: The Holiday Special)... Last year we watched (suffered through) the Holiday Special at the Christmas party...and this year folks were already calling this upcoming party the "Holiday Special Party". Thus the reason for the name change... (And yes, Garth, in a way you are right, but many haven't seen the Holiday Special to understand the ?Life Day? reference.)

Also bare in mind not all of us on here share the same beliefs, but honestly (as stated above) the name change had NOTHING to do with peoples beliefs or feelings or trying to be PC... It was all about Star Wars!

Oh yeah...and MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE and HAPPY LIFE DAY, Chewie!!!

    From,
    Tony (Far-right, gun-carrying, Christian Conservative) [face_flag]

Sorry,[face_worried] I thought that higher powers :-B (The Force.net) of the forum asked to have the name changed.I did'nt catch the Star Wars Holiday Special thing. My bad.

Yes, I was being sarcastic. Believe me this is the last place that I would want to talk about politics.

    I forget that you guys and gals don't know me that well yet to get my humor.8-}

So in short I LOVE YOU MAN!!!![:D] [face_laugh] That's supposed to be funny. My humor.

    HAPPY CHRISMAHANUKWANZAKA!!!!!!

    It's cool! Don't worry about me! :D

And there are some dems here...now that I think about it... but we don't hold that against them!!! [face_talk_hand] It's all about Star Wars here! That's what brings us together!

Man, Scott! At least I was subtle about it. ;)

After Tony's explanation for the name change, I think it's pretty cool to call it the "Holiday Special" party. I saw it on TV when it originally aired, and then bought it on VHS tape (obviously a bootleg copy now that I know more about it) for $15 at a Star Trek convention in San Jose, CA back in the early 90's. I've since sold it. I prefer to just put that out of my memory. Ugh.

My wife suggested that I bring a cheese and meat tray, but I think I might try to talk her into making some of her Christmas Chex Mix (there's that word again...heh heh heh). I guarranty that it won't last long though, and all it is is chex cereal, pretzels, peanuts, and Christmas M&M's all coated in white chocolate. Doesn't sound like much, but is always a big hit.

Actually its a Hanukah party, not a Christmas party. Aimee screwed up and called it a Christmas Party by mistake, and then since Tony refuses to recognize any other religions events around the Christmas season, they had to change it to Holiday Special party.. because its the Holiday.. and well... Tony is special.

Oh, and the 2nd amendment should be repealed. Causes nothing but trouble.

    Happy Life Day!

I purchased the Holiday special on E-BAY and finally watched it last night.

    Man,they had to be trippin on acid when they made that.8-}

I'm glad I only paid 7 bucks for it. I still think I over paid after watching that.:_|

My wife could'nt get past the virtual sex.[face_hypnotized]Wookie Viagra I guess.[face_laugh] You go Itchy!! You da Wookie.

We are going to watch it again at the party! Well it's going to be on in the background!

I think the cartoon is the only worth-while party of the whole special! That was Fett's first appearance!

I agree the cartoon was the best part.

It also had the Muppet show with luke,R2D2,3PO and Chewie. Also it had the old Kenner comercials. Those two things made it worth the money.

Joe send me a PM with your address so I can Mapquest the directions. Thanks

Chanukah, Kwanza, Christmas, A Day Off(for the Aethiests), Festivus(for the rest of us), Ramadan, and on and on and on and on......
ITS A PARTY.....nothing more, nothing less.
A chance to get together, get intoxicated, and bust on Tony and Joe, esp with the depiction of them at the top of the forum boards kissing in their wannabe Jedi costumes(top right)....[face_laugh]
[face_shame_on_you] remember this is a family board....we will have none of that here....next time use Flikr to post those type photos[face_laugh]

Well, Holiday Party is all inclusive and since there's no religion as we know it in Star Wars (although Han Solo does utter the word Hell thus justifying the Judeo Christian God Principle), this allows room for all us Christians, Jews, Pagans, Atheists, Hindus & Moslems to eat together and enjoy our love of Star Wars together at a special time of year. Ya know how when a bunch of us get together we tend to jaw long & hard? My dear Joe, you wont be kicking us out at 9 or 10pm will ya? Can I stay until 11pm?

MEAT! Now we are talking. James and Julie rock!

Seriously people, bring what you want. Typically people eat all different times at these things. We will have plenty of room for any dish you bring, big or small, we will eat it, we will eat it all. If you want to bring a huge baked ziti, bring it on! If you want to make your grammas famous swedish meatball medley, medley away! We will serve it all and bring some tupperware if you want to take any of your favorite leftovers home. Just post what you want and see what other people are bringing so we don't get those 15 NY style green bean casseroles that James drools over.

Troy, you can stay until 11pm, everyone else has to leave at 9. :) Just kidding all, even though I through some upper and lower customer specification limits on it (sorry, thats what I do for a living, and working from home its hard to separate personal and work life sometimes), the invite is open. In fact, I was thinking of starting at 5pm also, would that be better for people? 5pm to whenever Troy declares the party over? Tony and Aimee, this does not mean you can stay all night. Well, maybe Aimee can.

Aimee, if you approve the 5pm change, let us know. I don't think we have enough time for a survey though.

You all just crack me up!

Jean has to work the weekend of the party - that puts a damper on things in my house.
That being said, she normally gets off (work that is) around 5pm. I am still trying
to see if we can make an appearance.

After all - the possibility of James killin' us up some of that good ol' fashioned Virginia ROADKILL! I can't miss on that!

I hope this "all-inclusive" stuff doesn't include Commercial Insurance Salesman. I can tolerate a lot, but not those people!!

Unless there are any objections, I can bring the fudge!

    Hello my FanForce family!

Ok - Jean and I have decided and we are coming!
    (To the party, eh?)

We won't be bringing JB with us, not that is a hindrence to bring him...but he takes such a long time to warm up to people, he would just be getting good when its time to leave!

That being said, Jean and I will be attending and bringing her FAMOUS..

    Cheese Ball & Cracker spread.

    Yes, Cheese ball.
However, it has been called many other things over the years and for this special occasion we will call it by its true name(s).

    1. The Sphere o' Fear
    2. The Giant Hurt Ball
    3. A Booby?
    4. The Death Moon
    5. The DEATHTICLE!

Run for your lives in fear of the mighty Cheese ball!

It will be most likely just after 5pm or so when Jean and I arrive.
She has to work, and those Hutts don't let her leave her dancing gig until right at the crack o' 5.

Joe - hook me up with your address so I can find the place!

I'm coming. I'll bring a Star Wars themed food, I'll need to check my Wookie Cookbook. No proper games :( Paul and I have devised a new game but we never had the time to make it happen, sorry guys. We'll save it for next year.

Riff Trax has the Holiday Special coming soon which would make the whole HS experience better - we have to watch it, it's tradition!! I don't think my DVD version has the commercials so we'd need that version for the Riff Trax if it comes out in time.

I'll bring some Star Wars presents wrapped up and we'll have some sort of game to win prizes even if it's just an impromptu quiz or skill challenge or something.
