She should have been a Jedi
for all her ability
to hide
herself
her thoughts
herself
her purpose
No, her purpose is clear:
her intention here is not
survival
nothing so petty and selfish as that
It is not
to defy me
though she is effective in that task
It is not
to stall for time
a second task she does effortlessly
It is to become
hollow
When I reach into her mind,
I come back with nothing
She shrinks away from me each time
and everything goes into shadow
from the space at the bottom of her throat
to the surface of her mind
for all I know
she has turned herself into a void
she is hollow
and cannot be plumbed for information
she is hollow
so that the pain can fill her
but not seep in acid sweat from her clammy skin
her pain is entirely contained
just as the information I am 'discussing' is
she is hollow because I cannot be
perhaps if I became as devoid of
pain
or anger
I might understand her well enough
to fill her hollow spaces myself

Ah, the irony.

Another excellent Leia piece, even through Vader's eyes. You have a really affininty for her inner self, Ish. She is one complicated woman. In a good way, of course.

I liked it. I agree, Leia is really tricky to get. She's so complex. I especially love that it's from Vader's POV, that always makes things interesting.
