holonetnews.com is apparently an official site - I am in the middle of loading it now, my connection is getting slow due to the heavy traffic - however, it looks like there could be HEAPS of dated info here!

I love how the vote on the military act is 5:16, obviously 16th May - release of Episode II... this site looks awesome!

If it is an official site, then in my opinion, it is canon!!!

Looking at the Military Creation Act article, it says that the debate on the act has been going for TWO years, and that there is a PLANETARY SECURITY FORCE - this must be new, because I have never heard of it.

The article says that it has been around for centuries, and it must be an official organisation since it is described in capitalisation...

I've now read every article on the site. Not only is the Military Creation Act vote set for 5:16 on the Republic calender, but at this point in the News reports, it is 2 months away, making these take place virtually in realtime.

We'll likely get updates every week, and I suspect that Lucasfilm had this created in response to other succesful website movie tie-ins, such as the one for A.I. This also seems to be a more political movie than TPM, and the plot is more complex on the surface, so this can prep everyone for the situation with the clones and seperaratists before they see the movie.

 

Yes, Sturm, it indeed seems we're going to witness the clone wars events in real time.

I'm still totally blown away by this... But already forgot the trailer... j/k That shot with all the clones on 0-0-0 is so great.

 

Planet security forces have been mentioned before. They are private armies that each planet keeps for defense, you saw naboo's planetary security forces in TPM.

I don't see why it couldn't be. Probably would want a concerted effort with Internet helpers (like on the existing Timetales thread), it'll give them something to do during the long gap between books/movies etc.

Does anyone know when the site is getting updated ? I also think we should have a new acronym for the site.
