"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean al-Qaeda's not trying to kill you. Or so we've learned from this gripping CIA drama. The crazier agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) gets in her off-the-meds mania, the more her conspiracy theories about possibly ''turned'' American POW/congressional candidate Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) seem to make sense. Tonight's season finale finds Carrie near-catatonic and confined to bed, leaving her colleague Saul (Mandy Patinkin) to investigate, while Brody makes final preparations for the vice president's policy summit, and a long-awaited plot against America unfolds. No one will be able to predict the outcome of the attack ? not Saul, not Carrie, and probably not you either, which is what makes Homeland one of the most suspenseful shows on TV. Homeland's First Season

 

I caught the first season over a weekend of free Showtime, and wow is it great. Claire Danes won the award recently (and deservedly), but there's not a weak member in that cast. Damien Lewis had possibly the hardest job any actor had this year, and pulled it off. The series took a ton of risks changing up the status quo so much in its first year, and it turned out superbly.
