Senate Homosexuality: the Thread

I didn't know who Frank Ocean is. But to me, he deserves to be shunned for associating with Justin Bieber, than anything to do with his sexual orientation. I don't know if that counts though.

 

I'm sure most have heard about the federal judge striking down Kentucky's ban, though the ruling is on hold for now.

And I believe thanks to that federal ruling anakinfansince1983 posted about on the 25th, a county clerk in Boulder, CO is issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples in defiance of the objections of Colorado's attorney general.

 

So are city officals in Missouri.

 

And that's fine.... your working and questions make sense. His post was unclear. It wasn't obvious what he was asking for our thoughts on.

 

This week, the gov't here in Florida decides whether the state will enter the 21st. century. It'd be nice if my state showed more rare moments of intelligence.

It will probably be placed on hold though, if it hasn't been already.

I can't see the Supreme Court waiting much longer on this. By fall 2015, there will probably be a same-sex marriage ruling for every state and each circuit of appeals. The Supreme Court will have to take it up by then. Which will mean a June 2016 decision.

Technically we're still on hold here in Colorado, but my county clerk has gone insane in the best possible way so she's issuing licenses anyway.

 

And, the people in FL are still waiting. but considering how much the FL gov't ****'ed up both the 2000 and 2012 elections (luckily in 2012, the rest of the country had already decided on Obama), this could take a while.

I can't wait until 20 years from now, when my kids will read about this time period and wonder how this was ever an issue to begin with.

4th Circut court of Appeals DENIES a request to stay the Court's ruling overturning Va's Same Sex Marriage ban while it waits to be heard by the Supreme Court. Same Sex couples could get married as soon as next week.

Personally I wouldn't support a business that practiced discrimination based on the gender of whom somebody was marrying.

 

Appeal Court judges rip gay marriage bans at appeals court hearing.

 

Still fighting the fight in Bloomsburg to get an ordinance in place to stop anti-discrimination. It's going to be a long hard fight.
