If they arrested this guy he'd be a Fox News conservative martyr.

 

I seem to recall something about having his congregation pray for Obama's death...

Frankly I think he's a lot more honest than a lot of other religious conservatives who hope for the same thing but use word play to make themselves victims.

They fight tooth and nail in their attempt to keep any sort of civil right from homosexuals. I bet though if the country simply said "Alright, do what ever you feel is necessary with the 'gay issue' ". At the very minimum you'd have homosexuality re-criminalized.

This guy isn't as radical or fringe as we might hope he'd be. I mean my goodness look at what anakinfansince1983 posted from Sen. Tom Cotton about gays should be thankful they aren't being hung in this country as if that is a big compromise religious conservatives have had to make

 

Yeah, I love that preacher. I had a quote from him in my sig for a while. From that very clip actually. He was talking about having stats to prove the whole gay = pedophile thing: "And, look, all these statistics are mainstream. None of this stuff is hidden. I lost my statistics. But none of it's hidden."

Also, I love that he's apparently Matthew Fox's estranged twin.

Exactly. Treating them as if they're some sort of fringe minority among religious conservatives is dangerously naive. If anything, the rational, level headed Christians are the minority.

It's stuff like this that convince me this country is finished. And why I won't be staying here forever.

This is what I get for not going to Comms as much as I used to: I completely missed the thread that ultimately announced that the same - sex relationship ban in fanfic had been lifted.

Someone called this guy the Hitler pastor. Good analogy. What he said about Caitlyn Jenner was also offensive and repugnant, as well as inaccurate, since she may well be a lesbian like me. Some have called guys like this the Christian equivalent of ISIS. Makes sense. He's clearly a loser with some mental problems. He needs help. Get on this, Bill Maher and Kathy Griffin. Lol.

Boom! The Supreme Court just struck down all states' gay marriage bans!

 

I just went for a ~3 mile run myself. Maybe I should do that more often, and we'll get even more rationality from the court!

 

This is Gay Pride weekend in San Francisco. The big parade is Sunday. This announcement couldn't have been better timed.

SF's gonna be one non-stop party for the next three days.
