So I managed to cut my finger with a knife. Fortunately, it was only a pocket knife and only resulted in a little bit of blood gushing whereas the last time someone we knew sliced their finger open, they needed to get it wrapped :p

Kev-Mas_Colcha Lifetime of War from that latest Sabaton album is my jam. Especially the english version, which really emphasizes the lead singer's badass accent:

No, I was just doing some maintenance on some paintball gear and a pocket knife just happened to be a bad tool substitute for what I really needed :p

So that gif was just for effect!? YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO DISAPPOINT US LIKE THAT! I wanted to hear awesome stories of how you were brutally mauled by an automobile and survived...

Anyways, on a highly unrelated note, this song is freaking amazing, and I got to hear it live a couple of months ago...

Alesia is one of craziest battles ever fought, so I'm going to like this even without listening.

Well, the song is awesome too, think of a mix of celtic folk music and melodic death metal with a classically trained female soprano vocalist singing a duet alongside the male death growler.

    By the way...

Well, today is Tuesday, or Tīw's Day, named after Tyr, the Norse God of War.

    Song definitely related.

P.S. I'm wearing my Tyr shirt today as well :D

Funny thing, when I see "Tyr" I always think of the Forgotten Realms' god of justice. :p

Well, Tyr in the Nordic Pantheon is also associated with Justice, so in a way they are probably pretty much the same.

Yeah, that's probably right. D&D just about gives an explicit wink to this - Tyr in the Forgotten Realms pantheon is said to be an "interloper deity" who "arrived from ... elsewhere" several hundred years ago. :D

I for one blame the activity downturn on the weak dollar.

If we had a strong dollar it could force people to update!

And now, proof that we made things better back before the Internet:

Saintheart are you saying that I'm inferior, because I was born in 1988, a time in which, yes, the internet did exist? :p

That's only pre-Internet in the formal sense, Arpanet was around back then. :p

Also, if you want to be technical, the Telegraph could be considered an early incarnation of the internet. This would mean that since Telegraphs have existed in Europe as early as 1792 in the form of Semaphore Lines, the only music that would technically qualify as pre-internet music would be Classical music from Medieval to early Classical Periods and various folk music. This means that there won't be an official music video for any of these, as they were all from a time where recording technology pretty much did not exist.

I'd object to that definition as being overly broad, the telegraph did not involve simultaneous bidirectional packet swapping. :p

Well, if you go by a literal definition, that doesn't really matter. Besides, both the modern internet and the telegraphs made or make use of complex text coding and abbreviated language slang, both required network security experts, and both attracted criminals who used the networks to commit fraud, hack private communications, and send spam messages.

But it does matter, it's all about the Davies style packet switching. :p

Well, then by that definition you still have to go back to the early 1960s. :p

By that definition Kev, taverns along roadsides since the beginning of civilization could be considered "servers"
