So my rp started...going quite well, not too many apprentice prospects but only time will tell.

 

So a truckload of spoilers hit the net last night for Episode VII. Pretty interesting. However, since this might become an issue I'm declaring Hooper's an Episode VII spoiler free zone. Not even in tags. I'm not anticipating issues but we might as well be preemptive.

Incidentally, I'll be mostly away for the next week owing to job commitments, so Penguinator has sole control of the helm.

 

Is anyone else now tempted to go find all the spoilers ever and post them here? Cause I am.

Except I don't want to be spoiled, which is a slight problem.

 

i don't really care honestly. i'm not entirely sure i'm going to end up seeing it in theaters anyway, so i'm sure i'll be spoiled by then

well, he'd have to spoil himself to post them all, so the banning would be a secondary problem.

 

That and causing trouble really isn't in my nature. I mean, come on, since when do I cause trouble?

 

What are you worried about being spoiled, seven is going to run just like episodes One and four, more towards one probably depending on the strength of the New Jedi Order, "the galaxy is safe blah blah oh no sith are still a thing ahhh" (obviously with more grace) and then a death my money is on Luke or Chewie.The story isn't about the plot it is about execution.

 

i... really don't get that vibe from it at all. i don't think there's a new jedi order really. nor do i think things are really "fine" and "dandy". but i suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

and... how was the galaxy safe in episode four? that was the middle of a huge ass war?

Duelling version of Lightsaber (one-handed use), popular with Young Nobility from Tapani Sector

 

Not as powerful as a lightsaber but and most variants need force sensitivity to use.(not sure why.)

 

Unless assembled by a Force User, they tend to blow up, IIRC!

 

You know, I'm looking at that picture, and it's like someone watched footage of regular lightsaber combat and thought to themselves: "Yeah, this is cool, but what if it wasn't and we completely missed the point?"

 

I mean it's not like there's any mass to a lightsaber save the handle so I'm not sure why it being one-handed is terribly important.

 

i'd imagine mobility. your movements tend to be more agile one-handed than two since you only have resistance coming from one direction instead of both of your wrists/hands having to work in concert. it'd be more about a fencing kind of thing, which is about the point, than about the side of the blade.

less strength behind the blows, more penetrating instead.

 

Yeah, but Peng's point is that a lightsaber isn't going to weigh more than the handle, so there's really nothing keeping you from wielding it one-handed save for the fact that the entire point is it's supposed to be awesome laser sword kendo and thus, two hands.

Also real talk those pictures have pommels. Oh, yeah, you're totally going to have to counteract the weight of that laser.
