Yeah, I clicked edit to see if I could figure out what was up, and the post is completely blank. Like... completely blank. No markup tags. Nothing. It's almost beautiful in its impossible serenity.

The phrasing can't help but make me picture someone sitting in their lounger of choice, sipping a delicious beverage, reading Hyperion. Suddenly and inexplicably, their crotch explodes.

 

That, indeed, is a most apt metaphor for my personal experience of reading and finishing Hyperion. I am reminded of Prince's immortal lyrics from "Electric Chair" off the Batdance album: "You whispered something; it took my mind out like a G Flat Major with an E in the bass." I came. To appreciate it. Very much.

 

Ah, excuse me, but Batdance was the lead single off the 1989 Batman soundtrack, thank you very much.
