    Blasphemers!

(okay there were holes I can pick in the movies but I love the whole setting so darn much)

I really like The Hobbit. I really like The Lord of the Rings. I really hate the appendices. It results in a nice total apathy as regards the film adaptations of the first.

I watched the trailer. I wasn't aware Legolas was a major character in the one Hobbit book Tolkien wrote.

He wasn't even in the appendices (as far as having a role in the events of the time).

That's entirely on Jackson. A bit annoying, but...meh. I'll still watch it.

I'll watch it, I just don't get why they need to detract from the actual story of The Hobbit.

Adding in the stuff from the appendices is actually something I like, though, admittedly, they could have done it in another set of movies.

Now just tossing in Legolas to appease the fan(girls) is a bit annoying.

But they tossed in the appendices just to appease a different segment of the fanbase, how is that any different?

Like I said, I would have preferred them in a different set of films. I'm resigned to it, just like I'm resigned to Legolas. I just happen to like the appendices.

and am well aware its hypocritical.

Ingnore Legolas being in 'em and embrace the fact that they gave us singing Dwarves who were on key for Unexpected Journey? (I was looking for something in the archive, saw the reccognition software banner at the top, thought I'd say hello. And I'll be going again now. Hee.)

Yeah, we haven't exactly been dry here for a couple of weeks. Floods result in a lot of wet, who knew?

How do these roleplays work? I thought you plays the role of a character and went along with the plot, mixing up a little along the way.

Typically the GM provides the plot, and you write specifically for your character who reacts to the scenario presented, interacts with other characters, and the like. Sometimes this causes the plot to change, so the GM... changes it. It's like collaborative fiction where your input is restricted to the actions of a particular individual.

Failing that, an overabundance of turnips; or as Rune Factory 4 describes them: "The most common crop in the game, for some reason."

I deal with things in such a weird way.

My dog - the only pet I've ever had - was extremely unwell this morning. We thought it was a seizure or stroke. I stayed up with him from 4 until he went to the vet at 8. In those four hours I was worried sick about my little buddy, unsure if this was it or if he'd be okay.

So relieved to say he's doing great, and had nothing along the lines of a stroke or seizure. I get to watch him all day, which basically means as he fell asleep, I passed out on the couch watching five hours of Justice League cartoons.

I do not know why I did that, but that is what I did :p

Hi everyone, I'm back after a long while. Made a thread in the introductions forum but I figured I'd say hello here as well. It's been a long while since I've had time to role play in this style so I'm looking forward to some adventures here. :D

Yeah but I preferred that I make a new one, because this one sounds better. :p I am recognizing a few names, I was here in '07 under renegade142. I don't remember the info or email I used but I figured I'd rather have a new account for a new start anyways. :D
