    Chapter 1

?Bogy on high at six o?clock!? Yelled Gratula from her dais positioned next to Horlo.

?I see ?em, I see ?em!? Horlo yelled back frantically.

From behind, the enemy fighter rained blaster fire down on her rear, rocking the ship slightly as the shields absorbed the volley. Reaffirming her grip on the controls, Horlo took the ship into a sharp dive trying drastically to shake the ship on her tail, and could feel the incredible g?s trying to lift her from the pilot?s dais. She was glad she was firmly strapped in.

Shifting the controls, Horlo brought the ship into a tight spiral in order to evade her pursuer and had to tighten her gut muscles to keep the overwhelming g-force from taking her into darkness. From the spiral, Horlo took the ship into a loose corkscrew and followed it quickly with a tight loop-d-loop bringing the ship over backwards, and the shaking from the enemy fire ceased.

According to the monitors that displayed all of the ship?s blind spots, the enemy was now situated more on top of her and was desperately trying to re-match her trajectory. It was clear that the enemy droid knew its stuff and it would take some expert maneuvering to get behind the sucker. Luckily Horlo had been the top student in her military training and the best pilot in the fleet; well, in her opinion anyway; otherwise they?d have been tantic chow long ago.

Looking at the monitor, Horlo could see that Tarleeta, the roof turret operator, was doing his job, as red blaster fire erupted on impact with the enemy?s shields.

?Get ?em Tarleeta, that?s the way you blast them bastards!? Horlo screamed, hoping that the slim Hutt would hear.

Pulling out of the loop, Horlo feigned a maneuver to the right then quickly brought the ship to the left, going into a wide spin, ever mindful of keeping the roof of the ship facing the enemy. If she could only get behind the ship, then both the top and bottom turrets could fire upon it and they?d be able to move on to another target that much sooner, but this particular Terrigal class droid fighter wasn?t piloted by any rookie. This droid had experience.

That didn?t bother Horlo Chalaiik Arbasia though, she came from a clan with a long line of Hutt pilots and she was by far better than any of the slaves that piloted in the fleet, having been properly titled an ace by her regiment?s commander many years ago. She always looked forward to a challenge, and the war with Xim the Despot, leader of the Tion Hegemony provided many an opportunity to test her skills.

Unexpectedly, the fighter somehow matched her crazed spin, falling in behind her, and was too close to the ship to be hit by either turret. Immediately Horlo felt the ship rumble as blaster fire struck the rear shields.

However, she wasn?t worried yet for her specially modified Orrellan freighter was outfitted with the highest grade equipment; shields, guns, engines and hull armor, everything was top of the line. The shields would hold out a lot longer than any normal Hutt issued shields against the standard military blasters used by Tion?s fascist army.

Pitching the ship upwards, Horlo tried another advanced maneuver to get the ship off her back. With the g?s forcing her uncomfortably into her dais, she pulled the ship over backwards and sideways, going into a downward spiral. Then she rolled the ship tightly and took it into a loop that brought her behind the ship. She was far enough away that both turrets were able to open fire, and right after she was in position two sets of lasers unloaded upon the surprised fighter.

The two trails of laser f
