    Wake-On-Ring & Alarm
    KB/Mouse wake up

At a quick glance it does look fairly average and well yes your right it is. However fit it with the right componets and it turns out to be fairly impressive. Here is a list of things I have coupled with it so far:

    P3 1.1ghz
    512mb 133
    100gb 7200rpm Quantum 8mb Cache
    16X DVD Pioneer Slot
    Geforce 2 MX400 PCI
    SBLive Extigy
    Netcomm 56K RAVE USB
    Logitech QuickCam PRO3000
    Sony MDRV500 Headphones
    Microsoft Intellimouse Optical Mouse
    Cherry Mini-Keyboard

Its my Gaming/Video Editing/Entertainment Unit. With loads of MP3's and movies its perfect to take to parties. Plug it in and let the good times roll.

I do alot of video editing so its perfect for me to take onset and capture the data without having to go back to the office. A removable drive instead of the DVD would be better, that way I could have 100gb removable drives, one for music, one for video etc. But that cost money :)

Last but not least Gaming. I'm bringing it with me to the WALAN to put it to the test. Coupled with my 17inch FlatPanel it makes it very easy to transport. Of course you could throw in a Cheaper Celeron and use it for a server.... Sweet! The GeForce 2 gives that extra performance with games, coz we all know how crap the built in 3DSAVAGE is. :)

There are many things you could use this baby for. Perhaps set it up in your lounge with a remote keyboard and mouse as part of your entertainment. Never change a CD/DVD again. DivX your DVD's to the harddrive, or run all those 100 of 100 of GB's of MP3's straight off your drive, forget the Creative Jukebox.

How about a surveillance system? Throw a WebCam on it, hide it in your cupboard.... Sweet! How many uses can you think of? There are a few down points I suppose, first no AMD version yet (not that I care, I'm a Intel man). They do have AMD and P4 version coming but I imagine it will be sometime, I mean come on cooling can be a problem as you need a low profile fan and the aluminum case only cools so much unless you make your own mods for it.

Well the only thing I need to do to my is mod the case, throw in some pretty lights and a tiny slit window (slit? mmmm, slit) Oh boy its to early in the morning :)

So there you, I could dripple for ages but I won't. I got myself two of these babies and they work pretty sweet. Well thats my new toy for the time being anyway. If your interested and want to check it out at the WALAN come over and say hi, just look for the guy with a bag in one hand, his flatpanel under the other arm and a Jack Daniels Shirt. Untill next time, I'm

Post them here. I'd like to check it out too. Not that I think I'd end up doing anything like that to my own gear but I think it's cool seeing stuff like that.

Here's something some of you may be interested in. I just got myself a new Samsung CD combination drive. It's a DVD ROM drive as well as a CD-RW drive. Strathfield has them on sale for $199. I installed it in a couple of minutes and it works perfectly. The software that comes with it is EZ CD Creator light version 5 (which has everything I need), and Power DVD Player version 3 which I was already using since it's the best DVD software I've used.
If anyone's after either a DVD drive or a burner, it's a good option to consider for both. I think the sale's on at all their stores.

I'll end up putting a 2.2ghz(533) with 512mb(333) of Corsair Ram, WD 120gb HD with 8mb cache and when the NV30/NV40 are out, end up going for that to I think. I saw the unit today, looks very cool, it was the demo model so I got to wait til they order them in yet...
