Location from the convention center: Don't believe what you read on the hotel website! The hotel is just over a mile from the convention center, and it is a 9 block walk.

Transportation:

Closest Metro stop: Seventh Street Metro Station to Pico Station. Metro Rail Blue Line. Cost: $1.25 one way, trip takes approximately 5 minutes. Trains runs 5 AM to Midnight every day, give or take a few minutes.

DASH buses ? Route C and Route F on weekdays (runs every 10 to 20 minutes), from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Route DD (Downtown Discovery) on weekends, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Cost is $0.25 one way, trip takes approximately 10 minutes.

Taxi: Approximately $3.50 one way.

NOTE: The hotel has a COMPLIMENTARY Town Car that will take you anyplace you want to go in the "local area," and operates 7 AM to 9 PM. Obviously, this is something that is quite coveted (I'll bet they only have one car). But, it's something to ask about when you check in. Get a few of your friends together!

Parking:

Valet parking is $26 per day (in and out privileges). There is no self parking. There are parking lots around the hotel for $10 to $14 per day, but they won't have in and out privleges, and you won't be able to keep it there overnight, I don't believe.

Restaurants:

Checkers Downtown (breakfast, lunch and dinner; casual). Open Mondays through Friday 6:30 AM to 9 PM, Saturdays 7 AM to 9 PM, Sundays 8 AM to 9 PM. Outdoor dining available.
Checkers Lounge (appetizers, cocktails). Open afternoons and evenings.
Checkers UPTown Bar (appetizers, cocktails). Rooftop bar. Open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.

Lobby -- yes, it is narrow; this is not a big building. It's fine, though.
