Ah yes, cheesy christmas music, fake christmas trees and corny promotions for toys that won't live past noon on Christmas morning...

It's that time of year again...

it's the 2nd Annual House Of Choad New Year's Eve Bash

    Let's do it again...

    Heh heh...

Come as Your Favorite Stupid Super Hero, a la Mystery Men... So if we can get a Waffler, a PMS Avenger, or even Ballerina Man...

Make us all laugh, come out to play and have a good time.. bring a friend... More details, maps etc will be posted as the time gets closer, but I wanted to get this started now so you all can a good idea of what to wear, and how to carry it off.

    **White Elephant Gift Game**

OK, I ran this last year at the party & it was a blast.
    Here's how it works...

Get a $20 or less gift.
It can be wacky, cool, SW related, Not-SW related, Serious, etc..

Ask around if you are still not sure what to buy.

At the party, we all draw #s.

    #1 picks a gift & opens it.
    #2 picks a gift & opens it.
    #2 can either:
    switch gifts with #1
    or keep what they got.
    #3 picks a gift & opens it.
    #3 can either:
    switch gifts with #1
    switch gifts with #2
    or keep what they got.
    and so on..

After the last person, we go back to #1.
#1 can now switch their gift with anyone.

Then we go around the #s 1 more time of switching.

Why is it called White Elephant?
The term White Elephant represents a goof-like gift.

One of the best ideas i've seen was a BIG bag of dog food. Buried inside it was movie Gift certificates.

    To enter...
Just remember to bring your gift.
    No gift - No #

Ahhh yes, The House of Choad New Years Bash.

This will be a potluck event like last year. This turned out pretty good. I'll make up another sign up list for this one too.

House Rules apply... This means if you are over 21 bring a sleeping bag & pillow and check your keys at the door unless you have assigned a designated driver.

For those who need to, just let us know. We have plenty of floor space and you're welcome to pull up a corner of it. At this time all beds/bedrooms are spoken for, but we have a living room, dining room and family room with plenty of floor space and some very comfy couches.

We'll have the nursery set up for the few little ones that will be here with videos and such. To the best of my knowledge Le Prince and Obey Wann's 2 little ones will be here because Mel will have JUST had #3. Teresa is having a little friend over so they are going to help keep an eye on the little ones for us :)

Now for the Sign-up part please post here what you are wanting to bring. If for some reason you are going to be unable to bring something please PM me.

What ever you are bringing, please make sure it?s enough to feed at least 10-15 people

Mark me down for a couple bags of Ritz Chips, I'm also considering baking some cookies. Last year I brought a couple bottles of sparkling cider for those who are not consuming alcohol. Is there interest in me continuing that tradition?

I'm so glad I don't have to drive that night...

    Edited per request of Voidy-poo

And for those of you gonna consume alcohol during the holidays, make sure that you are consuming responsibly... and NOT driving after doing so...

    Loves yoo Voidy-chan!

Please keep the alcholic drink talk subdued, thanks. It's ok if you want to let people know that you're bringing something in particular...but please restrict it to only that. Thank you very much

Since the youngling might be coming, be aware, that the party might have to be a little more wholesome. I did not see a date posted. When is it gonna be? New Year's Eve?

I don't know what I'll bring. Maybe the dews.

Actually, it seems to me that it is more needful that you and your parents be aware that this particular party may not be particularly wholesome. It is New Years afterall

Void and I will of course be attending. Let you know soon what we're bringing

hmmmm... wonder if I should bring my yummy broccoli salad. Now, before any of you start throwing tomatoes at me, please believe me when I say this one is GOOD! I'm not a broccoli fan either, so trust me. :D I'll even leave out the sunflower seeds and raisins (even though I like raisins, but I know most of you don't).

    So...
    broccoli salad (possibly)

I'm also tempted to throw together a couple of large casserole pans of my favorite macaroni-and-cheese. mmmmmm... soulfood.

Yeah, add that to the list too.

    k, I'm hungry now...

I know that Broccoli salad... And it's much better w/o the raisins and if you use pecans instead of sunflower seeds no one notices them there and you get a better flavor :D

Hope you guys have a great Party! :)

Kev, please consider alternatives to your new years plans, however, if you are coming you will need a parent present the entire time you are here. I have heard there are several other "under agers" on the board, perhaps you guys would like to get together and plan a party somwhere for you.

The children that will be in our house are going to be very young, under 4 or 5 with the exception of the 14 year old who will be in our custody and a friend of hers (so she's not alone in the babysitting) They will not be participating in the bulk of the party (They may pop in from time to time for food and non-alcoholic beverage and will join us at midnight for the count down and toasts of sparking cider), but primarialy will be watching silly Disney type movies and playing games and changing diapers. They most graciously have volunteered to do this (bribery is such a sweet thing)By keeping the kids seperate and supervised we are avoiding any possible legal violations.

For all intents and purposes this is an over 18 party, however, If your parents are interested in allowing you to attend at least one will most assuredly need to attend with you to take responsibility of any possible contributing to your deliquency that may occurr.

I can pretty well guarentee that there will be nothing G-PG about this party outside of the Nursery.
