My friend has a all starship deck, as do I. I use Sienar Fleet Systems, Wakeelmui, and twi'lek advisor as my starting stuff. He uses squadron assignments, and rendevouz point. Anyway, I am extremely easily beaten even though I think my deck is pretty good..I have all of saber squadron with matching pilots, all the other death star 2 ties with matching pilot, obsidian 10 with os-72-10, about 8 star destroyers to move the ties around, two dreadnaughts for the +1, boba in slave 1, bossk in hounds tooth, and about 15 common Tie interceptors. I have 3 combat responses in there as well to get stuff out quick, but I don't use it for a starting effect...also, i have 5 All Power to Weapons in there. Anyway, I was wondering if light side just kicks dark sides ass in space or if i'm makign a big deck mistake. Anyone have a similar deck or any ideas?

I have a few ideas. Put in the Executor, the one with good immunity to attrition. Another problem for you is probably activation. So maybe you can put in some good activating and draining systems for yourself and perhaps go for that whole Imperial Command Admiral Piett and Commander Merrejk combo from the Death Star II. Put in Grand Admiral Thrawn because he is a good star destroyers pilot. The best suggestion I can give you since you have so many TIE Interceptors is putting in a couple SFS L-s9.3 Laser cannons. These are the X-wing Laser Cannons of the darkside and can be a real pain to the opponents fighters.

I to have been working on a space/DS deck. I find it is easier to help people with if I can see the deck. So my first suggestion is to post your deck and if possible also post your friends deck. That way we can post comments like "fight that card with this card" and so on.

Guardsman - I do have a executor and 2 sfl laser cannons in there...and i get beat down every time. actually theres some cards missing from it, i will update it later when i get it straightened out, but this is basically it..

    Wakeelmui
    Raithal
    Carida
    Star Destroyer:Launch Bay
    Nal Hutta

    2x Combat Response
    3x Sense
    Twi'lek Advisor
    5x All Power To Weapons
    Sienar Fleet Systems
    Alter & Collateral Damage

    Boba in Slave 1
    R2 - A5
    Admiral Piett
    10x Tie Interceptor
    Onyx 1
    Colonel Jendon
    Onyx 2
    Captain Yorr
    Saber 4
    DS-81-4
    Saber 3
    DS-81-3
    Saber 2
    Major Turr Phennir
    Saber 1
    Baron Soontir Fel
    The Emperor's Sword
    The Emperor's Shield
    Scythe 1
    Major Mianda
    Obsidian 10
    OS-72-10
    2x Dreadnaught Class Heavy Cruiser
    4x Victory Class SD

    Fighter Cover
    Black Sun Fleet

    2x SFS L-s9.3 Laser Cannons

I think that might even come out to more then 60..I'm definetely taking out the senses and alter..probably piett too..although the senses can counter senses directed at my all power to weapons...BTW, i have about 10 more non unique tie interceptors but I didn't know where to put them in. And i have a dreaded imperial starfleet that should be here in a few days..

    Any advice is great..

My first thought is that you loss because it looks like you have made a space deck with no real goal (other then beating your opponent). However you deck is a good start. Try to turn it into a DS or DS2 deck.

Here is an example of a decent DS deck:
    CHARACTERS(10)
    Skrilling x8
    Garindan
    U-3PO

    STARSHIPS(13)
    Executor
    Stalker
    Devastator
    Tyrant
    Conquest
    Victory Class Star Destroyer x3
    Dreadnaught-Class heavy Cruiser x2
    Death Star Assault Squadron
    Obsidian 7
    Obsidian 8

    INTERRUPTS(10)
    Abyssin Ornament x2
Those Rebels Won't Escape Us x2
    Control x2
    Tarkin's Orders x2
    It's Worse
    Twi'lek Advisor

    EFFECTS(16)
    3,720 To 1 x5
    Den Of Thieves x3
    Imperial Decree x2
There'll Be Hell To Pay x2
    Sudden Impact x2
    Undercover
    There Is No Try

    LOCATIONS(11)
    Death Star (Starting Location)
    Kiffex
    Yavin 4 x2
    Hoth x2
    Kashyyk
    Tatooine
    Kessel
    Asteroid Field x2

It is a little old (made June 98) but it is a great start.

Here is a decent DS2 deck:

The DS one would die easily against his....the DS2 one might work, but I have every card in it except Endor Operations which I assume is the point of the deck

What is the point of having Death Star and 4 Yavin 4s in there???

That deck was built to fight different types of decks. Yavin 4 is a pretty good card 4 a space deck but since you know your friend is also playing a space deck you might want to change it.

The DS is there because it is a great card. Also all you would have to do is add cards like Superlaser, Death Star Gunner, Commence Primary Ignition, Set Your Course For Alderaan/The Ultimate Power In The Universe and then you could have a bunch of fun.

What are the skrillings for? Also, it might not be as hard to beat him now as before, because I realized that squadron assignments/combat response can only be used once a turn, and when we play with that right it will hurt his much more than mine.

Ah. Thanks. I doubt I'll add too many of those to my TIE deck, but I will make changes to my Death Star deck...I wish i had that objective though.
