Can someone please explain that? Did Chewie pick her up in the middle of the lightspeed suicide mission from Holdo?

Rey stole Snoke's ship and met Chewie at the rendezvous.

Rey told Chewie to stay out of range and wait for her signal. When Kylo wakes up, Hux tells him that Rey stole Snoke's ship (presumably in the confusion after Holdo's attack).

We can extrapolate what happens next. :)

The same way the First Order ships couldn't catch up to the Resistance: Because the script says so.

Sure. Like every other movie ever made. Now that we have the "Star Wars is a documentary" argument out of the way...

The movie's dialogue tells you how she got back. As others have said, she took Snoke's ship and met up with Chewie, with whom she had left instructions to wait for her.

Same way Luke escaped the blockage on Hoth and built a green lightsaber and Leia acquired a replica costume of a deceased bounty hunter. Same way Poe left Jakku. Same way Vader found his way back to the Emperor after the Death Star was destroyed.

It happened off screen and they gave us just enough to imagine it.

Bingo. Another ‘plot hole’ blown out of the water.

It's like you have to spell it out for the plot-holers.

I love this thread. I will name it Squishy

It was poorly explained in the movie, which is a shortcoming of the movie. To feel proud that it is not a plot hole is weak.

Meanwhile, nothing will ever blow the plot hole out of the water regarding the ridiculous situation of a capital ship chasing another capital ship which manages to stay juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust out of range but can't go any faster and, for some reason, there are no starfighters in the picture or ways to cut in front of, you know, a single ship.

They explained this in detail in the film. Since when were you told that all spaceships in SW universe must have the same speed?

Something you didn't pay attention is not a plot hole.

Yes, the Raddus was faster, and TIE Fighters would be too far for protection. This is said with all words to Kylo when Hux tells him to return as he was out of range for protection.

    Cat and mouse and overconfidence.
First order was overconfident and wanted to torture the resistance with inevitable slow death.

If anyone thinks it's a poor plot hole, Why not think of it like this -- you get in a compact car with half a tank of gas and someone drives behind you in an 18 wheeler. You won't be allowed to move out of the way or change lanes. You can go faster. And when you run out of gas, they ram your car and run you over. Because they could. And there's nothing you can do about it.

Also read anything about naval tactics and every single one will tell you that a stern chase is a long chase.

Have you read Desolation Island by Patrick O'Brien? Most of the book is one long stern chase, and the suspense is relentless. It's like living a naval officer's nightmare.

I've read some Patrick O'Brien, though not that one, I was thinking of CS Forrester, Captain Hornblower or maybe it was in Hotspur, anyway there are many great stern chases both historical and fictional that fact.
