How did the Sith become extinct?

I dunno if this was ever answered or no but I'm just really curious

 

i think they killed them selves. Each wanted to have more and more power...reflected in ROTS. They caved in on each other.

Each one was afraid to lose their power, so they fought each other for more power, and having the Sith fighting the Sith while the Jedi were also fighting the Sith really left them both exhausted and distracted. Darth Bane was the only Sith to survive, and he took an apprentice, and started the Rule of Two.

Only Sith to have escaped was Darth Bane who began the whole only 2 at a time thing...

How it got from him to Darth Sidious is still a mystery..I assume...

 

Um the Sith religion? or the Sith race?

I was wondering how they became extinct surely every member of the sith race cant have left korriban to attack the old republic?

 

the republic might have brought the fight to korriban...

or the usual causes of extinction: habitat loss, invasive species, climate change, giant asteroid.

 

darth Kaana, the leader of the sith at Ruusan, knew he was going to be destroyed, so he and his sith followers put their force power togethor to make in essence, a black hole. when the jedi attacked, the detonated the "bomb" and it killed all of them. kyle katarn later after ANH went to the valley of the jedi as it was than called, and by defeating a dark jedi named jerec, freed the spirits of jedi kept there

 

there's speculation that the Sith race is not actually extinct, but just retreated out into the unknown regions (source: Kreia in KotOR 2: The Sith Lords).

That witch gave me more headaches than the SATs!

I never did figure out exactly what she was talking about!

For all its faults i did enjoy that game and found the story amazing

would be good for the next one if we do find the hiding sith and destroy them that would explain where they all went

The origional "Sith Empire" and "Sith Race" were destroyed... or were they? Basically, the majority of Sith Lords we see are just corrupted Jedi who swear themselves to the teachings of the Sith, i.e. Exar Kun. The Sith are an idea, and the "True Sith" are still out there somewhere.

So while Malak was a Sith Lord, he's wasn't a "True Sith".

Revan is going off to fight and destroy the "True Sith" Empire.

Think of Stargate SG-1, you can be a power Gao'uld "System Lord" without being a part of the actual "Alliance of System Lords", like Sokar was.

 

The true Sith were supposedly hunted down by the Republic (with the exception of Naga Sadow, who exiled himself on Yavin IV) following the Great Hyperspace War (circa 5,000 years BBY). However, as has been said, Kreia hints that the Sith race might not be as extinct as everyone thinks...

 

IMHO, I believe the sith became extinct by dying.

 

I don't think I can elaborate any more then whatever has been said.
