Evolution and "Intelligent Design"/Creationism don't try to explain the same things. Creationism is a belief in how life came to be, evolution only explains how it developed.

That said, I prefer real science over "faith." :)

Well Evolution in my eyes covers how the world started... went from a rock to where we are now. I didn't want to get into the millions of theories about how life first began if you subscribe to evolution.

    Creationism

I'm not going to argue anything, I'm just going to say, to me, "Evolution" is pretty silly/dumb when you think about it and look at the facts. The real fact is, God created us and we have a life and life to come through him and that's that. :)

But, I understand that people believe different things, or don't believe anything, so I leave it at that.
    Cheers. :)

Similarly, I don't want to argue - Census isn't the place for that (i'm sure I'd find several hundred pages of it over at the Senate, though). However, I would just ask you to be careful with your use of 'fact'. As you pointed out in the rest of your post, people believe very different things, and as 'facts' are usually seen as independent of opinions this might not be the right context for it. :)

I understand, when I said "The real fact" that, you could say, was actually my opinion. My mistake.
    Nothing to sweat about. :)

(Yeah, that is why I avoid the Senate Floor :p )

    Evolution.

I, for one, don't believe that that science and faith have to be mutually exclusive.

    Edited for clarity.

Semantically, this poll annoys me. Why isn't it Evolution vs. Creation? Or Evolutionism vs. Creationism?

I voted other since there was no option for Both. Why both?

Science/evolution is the how. God/creationism is the why.

I voted other, because I'm fairly undecided. I waver between Evolution and Creation and therefore I didn't really feel right just picking one or the other.

Isn't that kinda what intelligent design is?

    Anyways, I voted for evolution.

Yeah, that means Creation. Which, by the way, is what I voted for.

I voted Creationism, but with the caveat that this belief doesn't automatically mean you think God created everything in six literal days. Personally I'm inclined to think that's lyrical, but that the important part of it is that, no matter how he developed it or in what time span, creation is the significant work of a loving God. That's the key element, to me.

I love science insofar as it attempts to study the wonders of this creation. It's only gone too far, in my opinion, when it attempts to cut God out of his own picture... but just for the record, from a scientific view, the paradigm of "evolution", while somewhat valid, is very much wobbly and constricting the scientist's ability to theorize more abstractly, and perhaps more accurately.

Anyway, I would most likely be labelled creationist because I think God's a wonderful artist, and in that sense I'm fine with the label.

I agree with solojones on this issue.

I was not raised in a Christian fundamentalist environment. Far from the Bible Belt. Creationism was never preached to me, and I've studied evolution in school, never "intelligent design." In fact, I've been labelled as a Theistic evolutionist. Still, I voted Creationism, simply because I believe that God is the sole source of everything. From a Christian viewpoint, that's really the most important thing, and while I'm not associating myself with a rigid interpretation of Genesis (nor disassociating myself completely from the theory of evolution) by voting Creationism, I am disassociating myself from the idea that God is not the Creator.
