A lot of people have had problems getting the AOTC gag reel to work. If you were able to get it to work, please give detailed instructions on how you managed to do it. Explain what screen you were at and what buttons you pushed.

Also, specify what type of player you used to view the DVD. Was it an X-Box, PlayStation 2, Sony DVD player, Apex DVD player, PC (what software?), etc?

Thank you in advance for all the help. :)

All other technical questions should still go in the following thread: :)

First off, it won't work on many DVD-ROMs and in some DVD players.

Here's why: You need a REMOTE control that includes the number pads with a "10+" key. Some remotes only have the usual "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 0". You need that additional "10+" or "0+" key.

Okay, now that that's out of the way...

Put in DISC 1. Let it load up. Doesn't matter what planet theme.

    Go to the OPTIONS menu.

From here, Press "10+" (the screen should pause for a moment) then "1" (another pause) then "3" (another pause) then "8" (the gag reel will now start).

If you can access the entire disc hierachy from your player, the gag reel is located as Title 3, Chapter 1.

    Hope this helps.

(BTW, this works exactly the same way with the TPM DVD).

Using PowerDVD on my computer, I just right-clicked while the main menu was up, went to Title 3, and hit "Chapter 1". It started playing. :)

I have APEX and can do it two differant ways.

1: Go to options and highlight the THX-Optimizer logo and press the 10+ button. Wait about 3 seconds, and then press "3" wait another 3 seconds, and press "8"

2: Press the "PBC" button, wait for it to switch over, then press the "Title" button until you get to "Title 3" and press the "Play" button. This should also work.

Okay, so PowerDVD and other DVD-ROM players (perhaps even some platform players) allow you to circumvent the code and just go straight to TITLE 3, CHAPTER 1. ;)

I have a sony dvd player. I also did this on my boy friend's dvd player but i can't remember what brand he has off the top of my head.

    Put in Disc 1
    Go to Options
    highlight the THX
tpye 11 on your remote and hit enter. On my remote you have to do 10+ and then 1 to make 11. the dvd player should kind of stop for a second. then resume, then type 3 and press enter, then 8 and then enter. make sure you give it enough time to kinda click and recognize it. you have to wait between entering numbers.

That's what worked with those two dvd players. hope that's helpful

EDIT:also, on his dvd player, he diddn't have the 10+ button but i just hit 1-1-enter, and that worked fine

A coworker of mine said he managed to get to the gag reel.He has a Toshiba dual tray type model, about 2 years old. Select Title 3, then arrow down, then type in 1 in the Chapter box, then hit Play.

Then it goes to the gag reel.

Hope that works for some of you out there! I still haven't seen it on my player, a Panasonic something-or-other.

The OPTIONS menu is one of the only four menu options available on DISC 1.

    There is:

    Play Movie
    Chapters
    Options
    StarWars.Com

I had trouble at first too, no one helped. ;) But different players require different things.

    1) Insert Disc 1
    2) Go to Options.
    3) Highlight the THX logo
    4) Press 11 (pause as it freezes for a second) then press 3, then pause until after the screen starts moving again, then press 8, and it'll work. :)

I have an Apex DVD player...

Step 1: Once disk one loads, select "options"...

Step 2: Once the next screen loads highlight but
DO NOT "select" the THX logo...

Step 3: With the THX highlighted, turn off the shift key, (Apex owners will know what I'm talking about) press 10+ then 1,

Step 4: Wait for screen to pause, then press 1 again,

Step 5: Wait for screen to pause, press 3,

Step 6: Wait for screen to pause, press 8,

Step 7: Enjoy the Gag-Reel/Blooper goodness!!

On my DVD player I just had ro press:

    1, 1, 3, 8

No 10+ was needed on mine.

try that either slow or fast.

    I watch all my DVDs on a PS2. Here's what I did:

I went to the options menu.
Pressed select to bring up the translucent menu.
Typed in 11, then let the menu pause for a second.
Typed in 03, did the same.
Typed in 08, did the same.

Then watched Hayden burn his tongue on hot soup ;)

EDIT: CG, when you load the DVD into the PS2, you get all the usual FBI warnings and crap. Then the title menu comes up and you go to a planet startup menu. You can either highlight "Play" "Chapters" "Options" or "Starwars.com". Highlight options then press the numbers :)

I have a Sony DVD, the remote control doesn't have number buttons, so I couldn't do the "1138" thing.

What I did is play the disc, then hit "play shuffle" until title 3 came up... later I learned that you can hit "search mode", enter 3 (for title 3) and enter... this way is actually easier! :)

starwarsfan182: It will work even without that. On mine, a Sony, you enter 1 1 [enter] 3 [enter] 8 [enter] and it starts playing.

How unusual. This is what my DVD menu looks like:

EDIT: Comparing the two, it looks like YodaJeff is right, and the two are the same.

The "Options" menu in the US is the screen where the language is selected, so I would assume that it is the "Language Selection" menu on those DVD's that don't have an "Options" selection.

YodaJeff is correct, on some non-U.S. discs the "Options" menu is replaced by "Language Selection".

It's impossible to get the gag reel to work on X-box. I've tried everything but since you can't even type in a number without it saying "selection unavailable", you're better off saving your time by watching it on a friend's DVD player or something--that's what I did. I even asked this question on the official X-box forums and the geeks over there still couldn't help me. X-box sucks! Pawn your X-box and get a PS2 or a real DVD player.
