JCC How do you end your emails?

"Go to hell"

 

But "best regards" sounds even more bloated than "kind regards".

 

When using my mobile:


"Sent from my gawdawful iPhone
Please excuse fat finger typos and tone"

Some people end their emails with "cheers". They're normally the really passive aggressive ones. I hate them.

 

Worse is "thanks!"

 

What's a better way to get someone to reply to your email?

Please advise.

 

I imagine "you're welcome" would be even worse.

 

For my personal e-mail address, just my first name. For my work e-mails I have a signature block with the relevant information after my name. I usually type "Thanks." above that. But never "Thanks!". Big difference, haha. And never anything like "best wishes", "kind regards", etc.

Also, regarding having your e-mail address included in your e-mail signature, I see people do that at my company too. Doesn't make much sense.

When I use "Cheers" I mean it. When I say "Kind regards" I am not feeling it or don't know the receiver well.

 

Formal work emails: signature block containing my name, my title, office mailing address, direct dial number, work cell, firm's web site, and email address. This is required by the firm, so I have no real say as to what can or cannot go into my signature. For any followup emails after that, I'll just sign it with a dash and my name with no space in between.

Personal emails, just the dash next to my name with no space in between the two.

 

Usually 'regards' and the company-mandated signature. 'Thanks' seems silly if I'm providing information etc.

'Cheers' if I know the person better.

It appears that I am hated like Yvette.
