Change it back indeed. Don't really like all the effects it has on the boards. The old way was classic and much better. It was unique and that's what made it good.

I dislike it, but almost never visit the main page.

Hopefully the forums won't change to follow suit.

The new design is very good, but the old style really made the site stand out and gave it a certain personality, at least in my mind.

Reminds me of when someone else tried to retool something which didn't need to be fixed.

I really don't like it. It's harder to navigate, everything it so small.

It's simply a bad design. It's far too busy for what it needs to get across to a user, and the ads are intrusive, especially the ugly placement in the middle of the equally ugly main banner.

And I dislike that you could change about 3 things and remove all traces of Star Wars from it. It looks like a template webpage.

I don't like it. It's a snazzy layout, sure, but it's not TFN. The old style was much better.

However, I rarely visit the main page anyway. One has to not go there to avoid all spoilers (and don't me started on the "Spoiler Policy"). I don't really miss it much, though. The news just ain't what it used to be. But I digress.

As long as this doesn't spread to the boards, I really don't care.

I don't visit the main page. It's worse, IMO, but it'd not THAT horrible. I still liked the old version better though.

I loathe this new IGN/fast foodesque decor. Get rid of it and bring back the classic format.

    Looks bad. Harder to navigate.

But I guess they got a way to put more ads up.

And the links at the bottom of the forum pages to TFN stories are unreadable in Firefox. Way to program for only IE.

I use Safari and the same problem exists. [face_plain]

How is it that they managed to take the disorganized mess that was the original site, put all of the content into little boxes, and make it seem more disorganized and entirely unreadable? What am I supposed to be looking at?

I'm guessing that they should've built a better organization structure first, overlaid some basic functionality, and THEN added the asthetic trivialities.

The TFN link in the Forums isn't readable in IE either.

I think I'd like the main page more if the font was larger. Having to put reading glasses on to see what the section headlines are is kinda ridiculous! Whoever designed it is probably about 20 years old with perfect eyesight.

it's a good thing i have the pages i most visit saved as favorites on each pc i use....the new format is pretty sad...click on Forum by FanFiction and it takes you to The Saga? Why? why not the general fanfic board so you can choose which board from there? anyway, it is most confusing, and very tiny. I have IE and the links don't work for me either. :p

I never really visited the main TF.N site before unless there was something specific I was looking for; but I can officially say that now the organization and colours give me a headache, so I won't venture there ever again anytime soon. [face_plain]
