I don't know the "pronunciation guide" stuff, so I'll try the best I can - phonetically:

    Ver-gear is always how I said(thought?) it

    Ver-JEER

Interesting, I never though of the different possibilities. I guess one of those things you take for granted.

Hehe, pronounciation is something that is a bit of a pain with funny star wars names. I wrote a fanfic that had names with apostrophes and "aa" as just a single letter in the alien language, and people yelled at me so much about the names that I decided to put a pronounciation guide before the story. If only all authors would do this. . .*sigh*

Oh, and I pronounce it the weirdest of all of us: Vare-gare'-a with the last a being long. ;)

PS-If you wanna read my fanfic magum opus, the link is in my signature, I think. Or in my profile. Either way, I love feedback of any kind :) Just warning you, the names are a headache. :p

    vur-JEER

And you can't use the audio books as the authoritative pronunciation guide. They are wrong in so many places.

I'd have to go with ver-jeer too

and I just want to add that for those of you who say...à la française....well, I can assure you it's not how it's told`in French
(except if in French does not equal à la française)
