I think it is: ver-je-ray
Kind of a French pronounciation........anyone?
Uh I always thought it was ver'-ger-ree
I pronounce it...
"Jar Jar Binks"
I pronounce it "Ver-gear." I have a sneaking suspicion I'm wrong, though...
my guess is ver-jeer. but what do i know?
I say Ver-jeer as well. Score!
I don't know the "pronunciation guide" stuff, so I'll try the best I can - phonetically:
Ver-gear is always how I said(thought?) it
How about we start a name 'pronounciation' book petition?
Interesting, I never though of the different possibilities. I guess one of those things you take for granted.
Hehe, pronounciation is something that is a bit of a pain with funny star wars names. I wrote a fanfic that had names with apostrophes and "aa" as just a single letter in the alien language, and people yelled at me so much about the names that I decided to put a pronounciation guide before the story. If only all authors would do this. . .*sigh*
Oh, and I pronounce it the weirdest of all of us: Vare-gare'-a with the last a being long.
PS-If you wanna read my fanfic magum opus, the link is in my signature, I think. Or in my profile. Either way, I love feedback of any kind Just warning you, the names are a headache.
I always thought it was:
Vir (as in "vir"gin) + Jer
I always pronounced it "ver"+"gair"+"ray"
Simple minds go for simple spellings.
i agree that it's ver-JEER
Well, Rogue_Starbuck pronounces it à la française.
And I pronounce it Ver-jerry.
Veh-jair (as in chair, or fair)
I'm pretty sure it's Latin for "to wander."
Makes sense, doesn't it? Maybe?
You know, there's a very simple solution: ask someone who owns the audio version.
i always thought the root word could be "verge"
And you can't use the audio books as the authoritative pronunciation guide. They are wrong in so many places.
I'd have to go with ver-jeer too
and I just want to add that for those of you who say...à la française....well, I can assure you it's not how it's told`in French
(except if in French does not equal à la française)
