Explain to me who will go to see Scooby Doo Leave?

Little kids are too young to like Scooby.
Teenagers are "to cool" to pay to go see Scooby.
Most adults no better than to pay money to see a movie based on an old cartoon.
Senior citizens are too old for Scooby. Plus, the loud volume hurts their ears.

How do you see this movie making so much money? Surely Freddie Prince Jr.'s parents can only go so many times....

Actually Freddie Prinze SR. killed himself. He was one of the rat packers.

    anyways

Really what it comes down to is how much directors care.

GL cares about SW so it will be good. I believe Sam Raimi to be a good director, and given the directors he beat out to direct Spiderman, and given how much it looks like the comic, I'm gonna say he cares about that project.

Peter Jackson obviously loves Lord of the rings, and Chris columbus put a lot of timeinto harry potter so that is why these films were good.

But when a director doesnt care that much, it reflects on the screen, take the low budget movie AWOKEN, theres already negative hype cause I heard that the director is just doing it for money, the same can be said for a lot of bad movies. Like Jack, Coppola jsut made that to keep his vineyard going.

You said kids are too young, but that's where the money's coming. Mid june what get's realeased? Kids are gonna be getting ready to forget about school. They go to the movies with their parents and friends and they see Scooby, cause there is nothing else to see.
Star Wars and Spider-man will already be out for a month.
Scooby snakcs'll take over the nation. Adults will go see it because it look harmless and fun.
Teenagers may see it because of it's dealings with drugs.

And I'm hearing Oscar.Graffitti buzzes for Awoken!

    Yes, he is

Theres another film this summer bound to make some cash.... Triple X. With Vin Diesel and the crew behind the Fast & the Furious (and thhe success of F&TF), it stands to make a decent profit, especially with Vin's rising star status.

How can you say nothing over 130 mil?

    Scooby Doo, a cultural icon.

He's the Jar Jar binks of today!

Actually, I find Scooby Doo a hundred times more annoying than Jar Jar.

Say what you want about Mr. Binks, but at least he can speak in complete sentences....

I love Binks, and I love scooby.

    Annoying? That's just not right.

Such things shouldn't be said about a cutlural icon.

    You guys are funny! [face_laugh]

I'm not sure how this will sound, but here's my take:

AOTC may very well be the biggest film of the year, money wise, but I don't think it will leave the competition (Either summer or any other time of the year), in the dust like TPM did.

TPM had LOTS of hype and expectation. The first SW film in 16 years. Lot's of anxious people, young and old alike, waiting to see where Lucas would take them.

Well, TPM proved to be a very successful failure, IMHO. Lot's of money made, but not a lot of respect paid to it as a film. I myself wasn't too impressed with it as a whole, although there are some great things in TPM.

59% of a popular vote in favor of TPM shows that the public was pretty much divided about TPM. Therefore, I think it's logical to assume that much of the movie going public will proceed with caution this time around.

I think AOTC will clear $300 million, but with the prices of movies tickets going up as much as it has, that's not much of a feat.

    Best,

    Tadji

I doubt after a month of it's release people will say "Scooby Doo Where Are you?"

    It'll last.

    AOTC will last.

Spider-man will out due them all.

By the way, saw the AOTC trailer in the theatre before ICE AGE (actually was there to see "Showtime" and hopped in to see the trailer).

I expected at least some reaction to the trailer, and was somewhat suprised when there was none, just people plowing away at their popcorn.

That may not be a good sign....

What kind of reaction did you expect?

A brass band to come marching down the aisle? Confetti?
