Would be awesome to see the Mando's have a battle with several Jedi, including perhaps taking down some noteable Jedi that are introduced into the series. Would be awesome to see Pre Vizsla in battle again with his darksaber - which I really liked the design - it's like an ancient more clunky version that came before the more refined lightsabers. Would be interesting perhaps also what happens to the Pre Vizsla character during the clone wars and if he were to die, what becomes of the Darksaber that he has (I can't imagine there being too many of them being around by the time of TCW).

How about a little of what we don't want to see:

I don't want to see Pre Vizsla beheaded or eaten by a Sarlacc (it would not be an homage, it would be a copy and boring). Of course, he doesn't really have to die at all. Three more seasons, right?

I don't want to see Jar Jar try on mando armor.

I'd prefer not to have a mandolorian musical number...though if they must, setting it to "Roxanne" might be o.k.

I don't want to see a mando woken up in the middle of the night and have to escape in a helmet and underwear. Unless it's Satine.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but did they actually use the term "Darksaber?" As if that wasn't already used in one of the craptastic Kevin J Andersen superweapons of the week. Wow, I'm wondering if I even want to see this episode...

Nope, just in the commentaries. It's apparently George's name for it. In the episode it's only referred to as an ancient lightsaber stolen from the temple before the fall of the Old Republic. He does specifically say "Old Republic"

If you check out the Cartoonnetwork.com section on the clone wars and look up the dataclip for this episode, they DO use the term 'Darksaber' and call it an ancient lightsaber of sorts. So yeah, official confirmation. :p

I do think that it's neat, adds to the villainy of Pre Viszla (visually in that it's dark, figuratively in that his ancestors were essentially thieves and looters), and makes his skills stand out more, considering he didn't do TOO badly. I do agree with Scolai, however. If they make every Mandalorian wield those, it'll get tedious. I doubt that'll happen, though. :p

And I STILL want to see Jar Jar fight the Mandalorians. Can you imagine a scene where he's stumbled onto a gun platform and starts bumping into their backs one after the other, triggering their jetpacks and sending them to their deaths? Like a mass Boba Fett death scene...and I'd just die if they added Wilhelm screams. [face_laugh]

I don't appreciate the attack on KJA's work. First of all, I believe it was Lucas who started the weapon of the week thing since he had not one but two death stars.

And if you don't want to see the episode, don't watch it. Don't just come here and complain and insult Kevin and say, well I haven't even seen it. See it then come back. And no they don't use the term darksaber, but I think it would be cool if someone called it that. I could see Ahsoka calling it that even if it's not the official term.

I have no problem with it being called a darksaber. I kind of like it actually. That said, I'm not sure if cartoonnetwork.com counts as official SW confirmation.

I think the idea is Pre has one because he and it are special. That said, I could def. see an episode where the Mandos go to war against the Jedi and they mass produce them or something and everyone pulls on out for a big battle royale.

Koonfan, that would be hilarious! Hmmm, maybe one for the 'stuff we'll never see' thread?:p

And something else, Obi-Wan knocked Viszla down twice and then he orders his men to go after him whereas earlier Viszla shot one of his men for failing him...it seems to me that one of his men should have shot him for failing to kill the Jedi on his own, unless I missed something there. That, and one of them earlier refers to his leader as 'boss', implying to me that they are a more of a crimnal organization then perhaps a political terrorist group.

I don't know, just some observations I had...

"Wait, why should we finish off the Jedi when you couldn't?"
"Because you should do as I say, not as I do. Plus, I'm still carrying a lightsaber."

I think that Viszla probably rules through fear, so even if his 'retreat' went against Death Watch or Mandalorian traditions, his men might still be too intimidated by his ruthlessness to stand up to him. The Death Watch itself never struck me as very traditionalist either, so there's that. Even IF they were dissatisfied with him, it's still a pretty big risk to turn on your leader who STILL outperformed the rest of you against the Jedi...who himself is still alive, kicking, and carrying a lightsaber.

And maybe Boss is a term used by Mandalorians which spread to the galaxy...There's Boss from Republic Commandos after all. :p
EDIT: Ah, and how could I forget...
    "Sinker! Your turn!"
"I'm on it, Boss! (should have been a Wilhelm scream!) Eat laser, clankers!"

Niiiiice! They should totally do that just as a "deleted scene".

It does cross my mind every once in a while to wonder if some really weird scenes get produced as jokes by the animators in their downtime. I mean, they probably don't have much downtime, really, but think what you could do with all those character models at your disposal...

I like the portrayal of the Mandalorians so far. They're kinda "wanna-be" types, always trying to live up to their ancestors supposed greatness. I really didn't mind the darksaber.

Oh, yes yes YES! As a Jar Jar fan, I would die happy seeing that. ESPECIALLY with the mass Wilhelm screams. [face_laugh]

Well...DISNEY animators were/are rumored to do....interesting things with the Disney characters as jokes. I'm sure these guys do the same thing. You just never get to see it because they destroy their work pretty soon after.

Thanks. I still want to see it, but work, college, kids, etc. keep getting in the way. I'll stream it later this week...

And Fanboy, regarding KJAs work... to each his own. For me, his work (and other stuff put out not long after) got so bad that I stopped reading the EU books for years and years. And I have every right to critique his work, just the same as you do to like it.

Once upon a time, many, many moons ago, the Great Darth Holliday created a thread called A Great Scene for the EU (Exploited Universe) in Episode II . It was a fantastic, humorous look at how odd the EU was at the time. It is also amusing to see how far things have come and how much the EU (and canon) has changed over the years... or the last decade.

LOL, and in the interests of keeping this semi-on topic... it will be interesting to see how the Mandalorians pan out in this version. We've seen some on the old EU, some in Traviss' books and now this. I wonder if we'll see more in the live action series.

I didn't mind the Mandos as shown in the Republic Commando series (the only EU books I've read since Luke slept with a ghost). But my understanding is that this introduction to TCW completely threw out the whole KT version of Mandos. Hmmmm.... does that also mean that we will never see Republic Commandos in TCW? I hope not.
