Montie, if you don't mind my asking, what exactly is it that you do again?

I thought it was something like that.

So I guess my question is... if your job basically is to commute, then does only having a ten minute commute to your job really matter?

It really doesn't, IMO. My job requires me to occasionally be on the move and - when driving on third world "roads" dealing with even worse drivers - that can be a considerable pain.

Well yes because I still have a start time each day. I still have to drive my car to work each day so I have less wear and tear on my car.

It's pretty much the other way around for me. After I finish my degree, we're planning on moving to the Bay Area. Though the right job offer might make me consider staying in Seattle.

The only other places in the US we'd even consider are Portland, L.A. and NYC. Outside of the US, it depends on the job and location.

As long as I don't have to wake up at 3 in the morning to drive 3 hours...

Uhhh to clarify, I said travel for a job which was then further explained in the OP. As in move to where a job is. Not how is your commute. I can't imagine being even remotely interested in hearing about people's commutes.

My commute is about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. Am I doing it right? Sith-Lord-Gunray

I moved to Australia and it didn't work out. The most important thing I learned was no matter whether you travel halfway around the world for a job or just the next state over, get background information on your job and your employer and future boss. Otherwise you find out the hard way you can get screwed.

Are you blaming your employer for your job situation not working out? Is that happening right now?
