Yes, at the moment they are making lots of money off of the sales of marijuana in Colorado. Question is how long before the bubble crashes and consumers are no longer getting high? Does another state's legalization threaten them as well?

Other consumers can't buy marijuana in CO because it's not legal except in the states it's legal in and inter-state transit will automatically trigger felony laws in most cases.

So no, "bubble" not going away.

It's going to happen any day now marijuana is just a fad and people will stop smoking it soon. sure it's cool because they just legalized it but come on think about it how much are young kids going to smoke when their parents also smoke and know that they smoke probably not that many. no kid wants to do what their parents think is cool so they'll probably avoid it. plus other states are legalizing it as well now so less people will go to colorado just to get high like so many people are doing right now if anything this will probably end up hurting colorado in the long run because they're building all of these marijuana stores and giving people jobs but once people stop coming to colorado from other states whats going to happen to those stores they're going to go out of business and then those people won't have jobs and colorado will have a real financial crisis on their hands.

I'll say one thing. CO's pot industry manages the seemingly-impossible feat of making California's "medical" industry look classy. lol $300 "tours" in stretch Hummers.

Pot tourism to Colorado may fade if and when other states legalize, but pot itself isn't a fad that's going away. But Colorado has the advantage of being first out of the gate. Las Vegas suffered a bit when reservation and riverboat casinos proliferated, but Las Vegas didn't die, because it has the infrastructure no one else can equal.

There are too many pot addicts my age (however you define addiction. I know dozens of people in their 40s and 50s who can't live without the stuff) for it to be a passing fad. And there are bales and bales of it tucked away in and around your typical American high school. It's like alcohol - used by all age groups from pre-teens on up.

I think it is a fad and those older people only started because it wasn't allowed so it was cool too do it and they were being rebels too be cool that way, but now that its not they'll probably also stop. and high schoolers I think will stop once it becomes legal because then it will be just like doing anything else they can do and since its not forbidden anymore they'll probably stick to doing other things to be rebellious. its what kids do. trust me. as soon as they're allowed to smoke it they'll stop and will probably start doing things like cocaine or something like that that's still controversial. that's how teens work. if anything that will be worse because now kids will end up hooked on cocaine so this is probably a bad thing that way also.

You may be underestimating the appeal of doing things just because they feel good. I spend a lot of time in Vienna, where teens are allowed to drink alcohol. And they still do it, even though it's legal, because like American teens, they use it to facilitate social interaction and sexual encounters, and also because it's addictive and feels good, although I'm guessing Austrian teens do less binge drinking than American teens.

like teenagers could afford cocaine. i think they'll go straight for the bath salts, which while technically legal are about as rebellious as you can get. next thing you know it's going to be night of the living teenage dead on the colorado streets with deranged kids everywhere eating each other's faces.

yeah youre right tom probably theyd do something easier to get like crack or bath salts. or maybe meth with how popular breaking bad is I think that show really made drugs look sexy and youll probably see the sale of meth go up at least in the younger people who dont realize that its just tv and bad for them but because walter and jesse make it look so cool they want to do it and they don't think about how bad it is for them.

When it becomes like alcohol and lose all of its excitement, then you will see the start of the decline.

Yeah, I've heard people are hoarding weed to artificially get the prices to raise. There's a brutal speculation market out there.

You get high and you try this and you don't know why only you keep on trying it and you are high at the same time with a lot of other people, all mixed up with them, like trying to, having to, move your arms and legs with strings only the same strings are hitched to all the other arms and legs and the others all trying and they don't know why either except that the strings are all in one another's way like five or six people all trying to make a joint on the same loom only each one wants to put their own flavoring of marijuana into the joint; and it can't matter, you know that, or the Ones that set up the joint would have arranged things a little better, and yet it must matter because you keep on trying or having to keep on trying and then all of a sudden it's all over.

Marijuana is quite big here in the Twin Cities. I could imagine it being a profitable venture here if Minnesota legalized it. Doesn't really affect me much though, it's a "once in a blue moon" treat for me.
