My parents divorced when I was 11 years old.

I have a stepfather. He has as stepmother. She's my step-stepgrandmother. I need a ladder just to see her.

both my parents were married 15 times with other people... no just kidding

 

It gets weirder. My sister in law's dad has been married 4 times, but never with her mother!

My parents divorced when I was 7. My father remarried. My mother dated a bit, but no guy would marry her. Anyone who knows her knows why. (she's not a nice person)

My parents got divorced in 95. Then remarried each other again in 96. Then divorced again in 97. It was really tramatic.

My home (and occassionally so was I...) was picked up, slung around, beat, whipped, degraded, and smashed against some rocks.

So yeah, I come from a broken home.

mine are divorced as well.

 

Mine got divorced two years ago around Christmas.

 

My parents divorced when I was 14 as a result of my mother's paranoid neurosis and my father's drunkenness. They had both been married once before, and have been married once since. They each started out marrying total psychopaths and continue the tradition to this day. I have no half-siblings, but it's a wonder any marginally sane offspring resulted from the union.

Seeing how their divorce was affecting me emotionally, my mom was nice enough to console me by throwing out my homework and having me locked up in a mental institution for 5 weeks. Then she did it again for Christmas vacation the following school year.

Not that I'm bitter.

Wow, Paranorina, we have a near similar story. My parents divorced, and 7 years later married eachother again. They've been married 17 or 18 years the second time.

My parents divorced due to my Dad dying. That was a smart move he pulled. I wouldn't have thought of that approach to get out of a marriage.

 

I'm sorry to hear about your experiences, BYOB_Kenobi. Go ahead, be bitter about it. Unless it gets in the way of your daily life...but you aren't morally obligated to forgive your parents for their misdeeds, no matter what someone might say.

As for myself...

No, my parents chose a long time ago to stay in their little arrangement and every so often make themselves and myself miserable. If those two could ever act like adults for more than a week, it would be a miracle.

This is why they decided not to abort me, just to have a good little daughter to organize their lives, at the expense of her own. My mother seems to need a self-esteem boost every other day. And it must be given to her.

But, would she ever do the same for me? Well, let's see, I'm neurotic, have no self-esteem, and have no social skills whatsoever. I think the answer is a resounding "No".

 

My parents got divorced this past summer, with me at the age of twenty.
