I only have four, but the list is growing.
The centrepiece of my collection is TPM
19. I'we had dvd since ...uhh short before TPM came out on DVD, whenever that was.
Let's see, 20 James Bond movies, 4 Leathal Weapon movies, 2 Jurrasic Park, and about 10 others make about 36, give or take.
I have most of the James Bond movies on VHS.

I want J&SBSB soooo bad! Awesome movie!
I believe last time I counted it was 26, and I've added three since then. 29 or so.
Well we officially filled our DVD rack this week (thanks Valentine's Day!). We have over 120
I got J&SBSB last week and it is absolutely FANTASTIC! Best View Askew yet, film OR disc. Until the Clerks 10th anniversary edition, perhaps.
Anyhoo, my total is 285 today, 286 tomorrow (Fast & The Furious), and who knows where from then...

10. 8 ECW DVD's, and 2 anime(G-Saviour and Princess Mononoke)
None. Waiting for the price of players to come down to what regular VCRs cost.
A little more than 50. Closer to 60 if you count TV seasons as 3-6 discs instead of one thing. But it's slowing down now that I've got most of the movies I want.
JG: I got my DVD player for $80 over Amazon.com - it's a Toshiba and it works pretty well.
Also waiting for the "gosh wow look, it's DVD" tone to calm down. When people stop talking about how great it is and how much better it is... then I'll figure it's gone mainstream and is a good investment.
See, the problem with that, is that you'll be waiting til the next format comes then. It is so incredibly superior to any format previous that the quality WILL be talked about.
DVD's are addictive or something. I never bought so many movies when I had a VCR. Now I get a DVD whenever I get the chance. Must be the special features or something. I dont know how many I have, exactly. Somewhere around 30 I think.
Oh, I've seen them. They're pretty enough, but I'm not that impressed. I like the extra material, which is the only reason I considered buying one, but decided not to, because I don't want to feed into the marketing of technology via toy giveaways.
Seriously, once it's an accepted and normal part of life, even if it's great, people will stop talking about it. Until then, it feels a bit like a fad -- kind of like beta VCRs. I don't want to end up with what amounts to a stack of 8-tracks and betas.
DVD's are already mainstream. I think you live in Anarctica?
Dude, there are LOTS of people who don't own DVD players. In fact, there are lots of people who don't own CD players.
If the old system works, why change it?
Because the new system is better.
The new system is perfect.
121 and counting.
a grand total of.... *drumroll* FOUR!!
course, since we just got a DVD player, I have a good excuse
