I came across this on another site and thought I'd share it here. :)

How many e-group posters does it take to change a light bulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been
    changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the
light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light
    bulbs

53 to flame the spell checkers

    41 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another
    6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is
    "lamp"

27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

14 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the
    corrected URL's

12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they
cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ

44 to ask what is a "FAQ"

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

143 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting
    questions about light bulbs"

and finally.....1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6
months from now and start it all over again!

So what is a FAQ...And what kind of light bulb...and where is this google you speak of.... ;)

And why do I always stay and work for people when I could just go home....?

And why did I clean our stupid room yesterday....and why am I such a slacker?

And, most importantly, what does any of this have to do with ANYTHING??!!!!

    *Ahem*

You see, you forgot about 1 thing, and that's the crazy number (or is it amount?) of people that will randomly get completely off topic for absolutly no reason...Gotta love us :D

    Greetings, blokes.

I had to change up some lightbulbs after a deluge of water ran through the light fixtures, effectively ruining all the bulbs. They made a cool sizzling sound when turned on while filled with all that water, though.

    11 more to go,
    Yours Truly

    Jedigirl514,

If you break or come across a broken light bulb DO NOT try to take it out with you bare hands. Rather, make sure the switch is off then cut a DRY potato in half, carefully press the exposed inside part of the potato onto the broken part of the glass. (Don't press too hard so that you break more of the bulb). Once you have the potato secured to the bulb, simply screw the bulb away from the socket and voila, your ready to replace it with a new one.

P.S. DO NOT EAT THE POTATO AFTERWARDS! (Ya never know....)

oh well, i didn't know that and luckly when I broke the light bulb I didn't even try to change it, I just pushed the shards under the rug [face_blush] I was at a friends summer home for a party and the people are mean....I dunno why I was changing the light bulb in the first place, I was just bored when I was exploring so I changed a lightbulb....or tried too anyway

When I changed the light bulbs in the apartment I switch them over to the long life ones that look all curly.

    (nine to go)

When I was a little kid I had a popcorn maker that worked by the heat of a light bulb. Last year I came across it in my parents' basement and passed it along to one of the science teachers so they could demonstrate that indcandescent lightbulbs produce huge amounts of heat, but floresent lightbulbs produce very little heat.

Popcorn is a very tasty treat. I love popcorn, although I very seldom eat it anymore. Just popcorn with butter and salt, with a huge glass of milk. I don't know why, but I think the drink that tastes best with popcorn is milk. When eating popcorn I will choose milk over even coffee.

Carmel popcorn is also very tasty, although I'm not that big a fan of cheese popcorn. Does anyone else remember when flavored popcorns (in all flavors, like jellybeans) was very popular (80's I think) and there were even shops in the mall that sold nothing but different flavors of popcorn.

(how's that for wandering off the topic ;) )

popcorn is good but it get's stuck in my braces...and that makes my teeth itch...I don't know how my teeth itch they just do and if i'm at a theater i can't brush them and it causes me emotional pain and suffering and i'm afraid to smile cuz my teeth have all these bits in it...

I also can't eat corn on the cob for the same reason....

I've had braces far too long and i want them off...

We have popcorn under the bed, with all our other food. Which isn't looking too impressive right now, I think a trip to the grocery store is in order...speaking of which that movie we rented is late! Ack, doesn't it suck when you realize that?!

I LOVE crab legs!! Over the summer, when Tina and I went to Ohio we ate crab legs in six flags. They had this great little Chinese buffet in the sea world part and we fully ate our money in crab legs. And we took our money in octopus...but that's a different story...a VERY different story [face_mischief] [face_mischief] [face_mischief]

I went to Cedar Point when I was a kid...oh some 27 years ago....

I remember begging my mom for a stuffed racoon and puppy that I exclaimed, "They NEED to come home with me..."

So she caved and bought them for me.

I really loved those little stuffed animals, but my mom more so now for buying them for me. She's a great mom.

AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO SAY THAT EVEN AT 34 years old!

    Light Bulbs

Here's the link to look at some light bulbs :)

I still have my teddy bear from when I was a kid. It was once my mom's (or my aunt Gretchen's, they got identical teddies as little kids and there is some dispute to whom the teddy originally belonged) so the teddy is actually older than I am by about 30 years. I slept with it in my bed from about 6 until about 24. Then teddy went on a shelf because it was becoming a bit fragile.
